Is there any sort of discount or perk of inviting friends to buy the game + beta? Mate got his and was gona get me a copy but he couldnt gift it or buy 2 copies for less money kinda thing.

Like a referal thing?

Well that didn't last long.
Managed to exit supercruise inside a space station :confused:
Paid my insurance, loaded up and set off on the same run again - this time I ended up in the superstructure :mad:

Back to a sidewinder I go then :eek:

I did something similar - came out of supercruise just inside the recessed area / channels on the top of the station.
Hit full reverse once I realised what had happened & was lucky enough to survive :p

I've now learned to exit sc a little bit earlier. Saves on the repair bills.
 
Folks on the combat missions (the first one where you have a wingman), its so difficult to kill Matroska is it?

Any idea how to kill this guy? My wingman just seems to hover around.

It depends how much of a sci-fi nut you are, and if you've always wanted to fly your own spaceship :)


It is beta though, so plenty of things are missing.


If you're not a sci-fi nut & are just looking for something else to play, then I'd hold off until retail.

If you are a sci-fi nut then you'll gawk at the gfx when inside a station, spend ages just mouse-looking around, keep jumping into hyperspace to gawk & the vfx and at how the sun looks when you drop out and generally just flying around.

And if you wear headphones/ can turn the volume up high, you'll have an ear-gasm as the sound fx so far are superb.

I'm a huge Sci fi nut, massive. But I have my pennies invested in star citizen and need to buy a new x55 or similar as well. You might have just sold it to me lol. Is there enough time in the day to play both star citizen and elite dangerous though lol....this will kill me lol

Do you think you'd be buying Elite on release?

If you would then it works out at a couple of pounds every month for beta access, which isn't that bad really.
 
I have always said to myself there isn't going to be enough time to have both these epic games, so just really decided on star citizen.....but boy oh boy ED really is making it hard for me.
 
Had my first day today playing. Am still using KB and Mouse as my X-55 still hasn't arrived. Managed to end on around 35k credits in 8 hours of play. Not amazing but considering I was completely clueless this morning it's not too bad. I can now buy a basic hauler. The game is frustrating in parts but very addictive. I can;t face Star Citizen as the controls are totally awful, I think ED will be the game for me
