Is there any trick to finding RES's or is just a case of trial and error jumping through systems ?

Spent a few weeks in Apam Napat , but feel it's time to move on. It is a beautiful system but i need new sights and prey ;-)

Look at the system map, if it has planetary rings that aren't just water ice then there will usually be resource extraction sites. It's a pity we don't have mixed types or something to extract from the ice rings as they sure are pretty :)

Need to check planetary rings as Dano said. Once found you can jump in and see ED in full glory as waves of mindless Wanted's follow you in for seemingly no other season than to commit suicide to help you warn CR. :)

Thanks for the RES tips guys.

Had a bad session last night....lost my new vulture twice in a combat zone.....weeks of bounty hunting and I've never lost my ship :-(

Not sure these cz's are worth the effort ?

New community goals are up , might try my hand at one of those...

Fly in a wing its a lot safer money wise not much in it you share the kills but kill more but having wingmen to watch your back when taking down an Elite Anaconda always helpful.

I do normally wing up , but my wingman is away on business at the moment :-(

So going at it solo.....

Not convinced selling the Cobra and going Vulture was a good move at the moment.....just dont seem to be able to get the firepower I need with only 2 hardpoints

You're having a laugh? Just throw two class 3 gimballed pulse or burst lasers on there and and enjoy not getting penalties against bigger ships, target the power plant on anything cobra size and above the Vulture will chew through anything thrown at it in a RES without much trouble at all.

Seriously with decent shields and some mark 3 gimbals it the most OTT ship in the game am so bored with it but nothing else comes close for combat.

We were up to 3 wings on pagan but GTA killed it off expecting peeps to return Tuesday when the beta released feel free to pop into our TS and join us as powerplay sounds like wings gonna get some content AT LAST......

Just had 3 hours around Persephone on the CG

Hooked up with a random Canadian guy and had some good killing.......until just i left him got done over by a ship rammer and lost 50% of my earnings.....

Note to self....return and cash in more often ;-)

Just lost a Vulture to a player interdiction in the Federation CG system, note to self, attempting to run from a Clipper and something else isn't a great plan unless you have a proper target set lol :)

He asked me to stop, not sure why, I wasn't carrying anything and he sure as hell wasn't going to let me go for any reason I could think of, oh well. Back to solo mode to earn insurance cover before I go back to open, I'd rather be in open but am not about to risk flying without insurance, oh well, them's the rules.

How do you explorer types treat previously discovered planets of interest (earth like, water world, candi for terraforming)? Do you still scan them or do you move on to the next system?

I'd still scan them, unless they were an unreasonably far distance away.

If you're regularly jumping into previously discovered systems though I'd take it as a sign that you should move on to another patch of space; you really don't have to go far to find vast swathes of untouched systems, I spent the weekend scanning a patch only 2k ly out from Sol and very rarely saw systems tagged by another explorer (and found a previously undiscovered Earth-like only 900 ly from Sol on the way back :) ).

All depends on how far they are out and how easy they will be to scan for me, if the things I'm thinking of scanning are the only ones with moons or only ones without moons in a System then they are easy to pick out from the other junk planets that are not worth the time scanning.

You'll end up despising Asteroid Belts, they really should implement some way of 'Dismissing' things on that damned UI -OR- Make them actually worth something for scanning, at the moment they are just there purely for exploration hindrance. I hate them as they are so pointless the way they are at the moment.

Cheers for the reply's.

I've been working on "can I be arsed" to go check them out.

I've not found as many undiscovered as I though I might to be honest but I am putting that down to the areas I have been visiting being in and around nebula. 3500ly out now heading for Thors Helmet where I expect to find more discovered stuff but hopefully have a lovely view.

I flipped to the MOBIUS private group for a bit to get some money in the bank for the same reason....at least there is the chance to wing up with like minded CMDR's in there that wont shoot you whilst you go for these CG's.

My first CG , and just cracked into the top 40%...pretty pleased with my evenings work and really starting to get the hang of the Vulture now.

Flipping Flight assist on and off makes this think turn on its axis...awesome
