Yes. Glad I made my billions in advance
bugger :/ i'll stay on solo atm i think.
Yes. Glad I made my billions in advance
Doesn't it say something about the state of the game if people have to resort to a workaround just to earn enough money to do the things that they want to do?
If you want it all NOW, then yes... it says the players are an impatient bunch of children.
As I understand it, the whole point of Elite status (for which the game is named) is that it should take a long time to even get there.
All my cash, close on 300mil, has been earned in-game without exploits.
This is the underlying problem with the game, and has been from release. OK, you can forgive them for releasing it without the depth of content, but since its release they haven't back filled it. All they've done is add more and more shinny things to try and distract from the lack of depth within the game.
Yes, there's a grind in all games of this kind, but in ED it appears they've taken it to another level. Regardless of the livelihood you choose to take in game, it's a grind. It's advertised and sold with some grate strap lines: -
None of these are strictly true IMO.
Diehards will tell you to use your "imagination" to fill in the short comings such as the missing depth and broken BGS, it's an argument that can only be used for so long, 3 years is surely long enough![]()
What can they do though ?
Hell the server infrastructure struggles to get 3 people in a wing in the same instance so decent CO-OP play is out of the question.
Exactly the problem isn't the game it's people's expectations that they can have all the shiny things right away. I think people have been spoilt with modern computer games that let you buy "special" editions which unlock everything from the start or in-game purchases.
And yes I said earlier in the thread if you are complaining about it being a grind then maybe this game isn't for you - Elite has always been this way from the very first game in 1984.
Yes exactly imagination - I'm guessing so many of this generation are so used to having things immediately that lack of imagination must be pretty high. In the last few months I've been to Colonia and back twice, first time it hadn't been renamed from the obscure system name.
I've been out to the Formidine Rift searching for the mysteries which have been hinted upon. I'm currently heading back to the bubble to unlock Palin and then check out the mysteries of the ancient ruins along with the new mission that can come from Ram Tah once you have unlocked him.
Stop moaning about there being nothing to do - there is plenty to do but perhaps the game just isn't for you. There are plenty of space games on Steam maybe check the others out.
Really on the recent Colonia Christmas Convoy we had up to 25 CMDRs in the same instance by using the wing trick and I've regularly seen 10 CMDRs per instance through winging being achieveable.
My first glimpses of the new Dwarf stars in 2.2 whilst heading back from Colonia -

OK, what story would you like? There are hundreds of story possibilities, multiplied by thousands of players' expectations and requirements.A story....
A goal with meaning.
Really?Once you have a COBRA the shine is lost really,
Or do it well enough, using a bit of planning, forethought, mathematics and the Galaxy Map filters to find something more profitable to trade, to get a better ship and start taking down targets that earn you several million at a time... or run salvage missions, escort other players, do the passenger tours....4 things to do. To get the biggest ships you need to do the 4 above hundred of thousands of times.
So don't play it, then. Wait half a century and then go enjoy the rich, buggy depth that Star Citizen will surely provide...Diehards will tell you to use your "imagination" to fill in the short comings such as the missing depth and broken BGS, it's an argument that can only be used for so long, 3 years is surely long enough![]()
Can't see videos here at work, but description sounds like NPC saw alien, panicked and shot at both targets... kinda like most people would. That really disappointed me. How bloody stupid that that happened. Surely FD can control these kind of things![]()

Already seen several people shooting up these aliens anyway, so not exactly unreasonable?

How about a full-on engaging plot, like Mass Effect, with decision trees, multiplied up as above, and then another tenfold because once you've done one you'll want more?
Cool. Game offline. See you in 2039 when we've written and implemented all that.... Note that Star Citizen, who claim to be working toward delivering all that, will still be in development by that time, though!!
Really?
I marvelled at the cockpit of mine for a bit, but ditched it same day and moved on. I hate the damn things!!
Trading
Mining
Shooting
Exploring

Or just enjoy the game and stop trying to get the biggest ship as your one and only end goal.

I don't recall having to use my imagination, so much as my eyes for reading all the stories and happenings in-game, on email, on server news updates and so on...

And you didn't already have some sort of bounty on you?Well, I thought I'd fire it up and see what today's patch as brought and if it's fixed the poorly paying missions thing. First though I think I'll just go for a quick fly to get my hand back in.
Within two minutes of entering supercruise I get interdicted by some NPC scrote in a Viper III. I submit and once out of SC He starts shooting at me and I think 'fair enough, I'll have you'. I drop my throttle to 50%, spin my Cobra III around start shooting back. I receive a 200cr fine for firing back at him and a 5000Cr bounty on my head when I kill him for "murdering him". Which then causes the local authorities who have rocked up by now to scan me and start aggressing me. Thankfully I just about made it out with 3% hull left.
How the **** is that considered to be fair?
Within two minutes of entering supercruise I get interdicted by some NPC scrote in a Viper III.
Whoever mentioned that?We all have pretty screen shots from Elite, its not enough.
I guess you've 'won' the game, then. Well done. Uninstall and play something else...I spent hrs upon hrs of trading to OWN every ship in the game and the ones i like all A rated.
Inadequate for what? The filters are woefully inadequate for starters, you still need to screen shot and scan each visit to determine the buy. Which in this day and age is just pathetic, or you use a on-line tool.
The Division - Shoot up people to get more gear, to shoot people better, to get more gear, to shoot people better, to get more gear, to shoot people better, to get more gear, to shoot people better, to get more gear, to shoot people better, to get more gear.... GRIND.EVERYTHING IN THIS GAME IS GRIND.
Bigger ships take more to maintain.TBH it succeeds until you get to a COBRA past this point its just a endless time sink doing.... 1000s upoin 1000s of time.
Have you not actually done any of it, then?I have not even begin to talk about Faction Ranks or the pointless beyond repetition that is powerplay.
Anyone having a crack at this 100mil mission?
Went over to the alien ruins last night and it seems pretty complex. The guys in the FD Forum canon thread are all over it but it looks like the combinations of relics are different for everyone.
If they're different for different CMDRs that just seems bonkers...
From what I've read it seems some have been shown to be common across CMRDs, and other different. The question is, are the different cases bugs?
I must say just shuffling and trying combinations etc isn't my bag, so I won't be flying over there... Which I think - having done my Thargoid interdiction - leaves me not want to do anything in the game again...
