******* The "official" Essential iPad Apps thread (with stars) *******

My daughter (18 months) loves Peekaboo Barn

There's also a ladybird app called Peekaboo touch or something like that which she enjoys, but it doesnt flow quite as fast, so doesn't hold her attention as well, worth a look though

2 years old on a Ipad, wow. I thought this generation was doomed as all the kids do now is go on there PC and don't have lives. Let the child go outside and play!

Anyone using splashtop remote?

Does your keyboard auto pop up, when clicking in editable text box?

Can anyone recommend any other RDP apps?

iTap, bit pricey, but the best RDP app I've used on my iPad

I'm going on holiday tomorrow and usually buy a couple of magazines to read from the airport, whats a good app so I can purchase these magazines in a digital format?

Cheers

News stand?

Splashtop remote desktop now has v2. Feels really smooth! Using native computer resolution (1080p) not looking bad on ipad3. Sharp but theres black borders obviously.

Considering this for 1.49, how's it work with games? The preview pic shows Diablo 3 ha.
I've never tried, all I think is how the heck could you play.

Not like you have proper keys (WASD) as far as I remember holding down on a key doesn't work so to move you would have to keep pressing W..

I do use this application a lot though! Sometimes I swear I use it more than the iOS itself lol.

Maybe I'm paranoid but I don't want Internet access for Splashtop, LAN is fine. On v1 you could turn off the net access but in v2 you don't seem to be able to?

I used to have an application on the iPhone that basically turned it into a mouse / keyboard.

Not full remote desktop as it didnt display anything on the screen - can't for the life of me think what it was and searches are getting me nowhere.

Any ideas?

It seems that way. I imagine they have done it to make life easier (for those who don't know what IP addresses are and such).. Personally I'm not bothered.
