The *Official* Eve Online Thread

So, just opened up my first L4 agent.. Good to see ISK finally starting to roll in.

Im currently not looting/salvaging anything, but I do have the skills to. Is it worth the ~25m investment in to a Salvacane just for looting/salvaging, or should i just carry on farming them without? Currently just doing a Q-3 agent, as its all I have the standings for.

N.B. Not subbed for a couple of months now.

Not sure what salvage prices are currently like but for many missions the salvage and repro'd loot were defintately worth the effort. This will probably have a bit of a shake-up when they introduce small / med rigs soon. As mentioned above, the salvage boat to use is your races' destroyer. I am a tad extravagant and use an orca with my alt to tractor the wrecks (70k range) and a destroyer with all high salavagers. So long as I pop everything within 70k from the warpin I can just sit on my arse and scoop it up.

Would love to have the time to re-sub to this game but not at the moment. It's certainly one of the best I've played.

Judging from various forums Hurricanes seem to be very popular salvagers atm.. Either way, yeah - I went for the Thrasher in the end. 4 Tractors, 4 Salvagers.. Will see how it pans out in a few L4's tonight.

Really need to get myself in to a BS to farm these properly, my passive shield Hurricane is starting to feel the strain.. Although its still doable, just slow at times.

i've moved to a corp in amarr space and i am stuck doing rubbish level 2 missions :( money coming in is nowhere near what I want, however, the salvage makes up for it! its an extra 3-4 mil and hour on level 2's.

And I use a thrasher for one character and a Catalyst for the other and they do the job great :D

Hey dage, yeah I haven't seen aggy in ages. Tbh haven't seen a lot of ppl lately. Feek, vic, blade, vort, jaZ everyone has disappeAred :( to be fair I've hardly been on myself.

Moved to 0.0 space under CVA, its fun out here ;)

Alliance Im in keeps on getting Wardeced so we decided to pull some strings and get ourselves a new home in Providence. Pirate Hunting is good fun and getting revenge for losing an Orca and Abbadon is great ;)

Meds, would any of your old corp mates be able to squeeze things in a carrier or JF the next time they were making a trip to empire. Maybe try and sell ships off and bring your most valuable assets?
I'm just getting back into the game and had to move from 0.0 as well as I knew I'd be afg for some time, can understand it can be a bit of chore getting things shifted. Hope you get sorted.

anyone here big into the whole wormhole thing? I'm finding it a bit difficult to learn about them... in addition to this it seems you need a jack of all trades ship or a large fleet with people specialising in specific roles to succeed. My corp got shouted at by a vaga pilot as we collapsed a wormhole with a retriever recently :D

it seems you need a ship which can probe (incase you get stuck), tank (for those sleepers), fight back (incase you get jumped) and generally keep the cost down (as you're bound to loose some ships along the way)

currently have a passive drake with salvager and probe launcher... no PVP items fitted but its all T2, can tank 2 sleeper BS solo but killing them is slow stuff...

also wondering if the juice is worth the squeeze... trying to get into something new as im starting to get a bit bored :p.

fight back (incase you get jumped)

Ah sorry all I know about WH is that they got nice juicy nub targets inside :D Corp I'm in specialise at hunting WH's and war decs ;)

A gang of 5 of us (cruiser sized n smaller) took down a CNR the other night, we engaged a camp on the inside of a WH they had few BC and HAC's...they brought the CNR at range lol nubs...they lost that and an ishtar.

I don't think we have enough ships... lol (This is our SUPPORT fleet) Cap fleet for us tonight I think is something like 150..

What were you off to do with a fleet like that? :o

I really want to get stuck in to some more areas of the game, but feel like I want to stick by the corp I joined as a newb. I feel loyal to them still, but their members just arent active enough for me atm.. 2-3 on most evenings, normally doing their own things.

We're defending a POS down in Detroid atm.. The Goons are going to be arriving in the next few hours :)

Edit: And this is only our support fleet too.. it's mint :)

Thats the sort of stuff I want to get stuck in to :)

Although, need a good few months (read: years) of training up before Im anywhere near capable of contributing to an established corp tbh.

Heh, will probably end up in fleet with you at some point if goons really do come down (in The Initiative, we recently moved into Immensea having got bored in the north).
