**The Official Everything MMA Related Thread**

Guess he will be back in the WWE then. They are announcing someone on Monday night with rumour suggesting him or Jericho. I am really not looking forward to Taker vs Brock at Wrestlemania.

Brock vs anyone other than Taker would be great. Brock was incredible in WWE for his damn strength. I loved that he was able to perform various moves including the F5 on anyone of any size.

Taker on the other hand, can barely walk for five minutes without needing a sit down, and also can't take as many bumps as in the past.

It's inevitable there will be a Taker Wrestlmania match and I'm not looking forward to it at all. Obviously he/WWE wants 20-0 but it's embarassing watching him perform now.

Lesnar got his last payday in, in his own words it came down to who wanted it the most. He was truly out of his depth in ufc/mma. Can't say Ill miss him really

If there was one person in the entire WWE that deserves to be carried past their prime, its Taker. If you look at what he has done for the company over the years, the amount of times he "fought" hurt, the amount of stupid bumps he has taken, and never once have you seen him do a Stone Cold and walk out, he didn't do a Rock and go off to Hollywood, the guy is a true company man and 20-0 is simply what he deserves.

Am I expecting the Taker match to be a classic? Nope, there are going to be missed spots galore, and its going to be a mess, but if you look at his last match with HHH - he can still tell a story in that ring, and I don't think there is anything more fitting than for him to go out at 20-0.

Brock the greatest fighter ever - followed him since he was young - UFC wont be the same.

This.

Not technically the best fighter but it was like watching a gorilla fight and he was always entertaining. The heavy weight division would be very boring if Overeem hadn't stepped into his place.

Pretty gutted to see him go :(

He got to MMA far to late in his career he is so one sided he doesn't have enough time to work on his stand up skills considering the level the other guys are already at.

mmamania.coms predictions was pretty harsh on Brock, the guy was saying this fight should never have gone ahead it was just stupid.
You have a guy who has been out for just over a year with weak standup fighting one of if not the best HW striker.

Overeem showed no respect for Brocks stand up at all didn't really seem to fear it and just stalked him, closing him down, keeping his arms out to stuff any attempt at a take down and pick his shots.
I don't usually watch a lot of the pre fight stuff but all week Brock seemed incredibly off, pretty blunt, ****** off. Compare this to Overeem who looked unbelievably relaxed, very calm and very laid back. I guess this is the fact he has had something 60 fights compared to Brocks 7th last night :o

So glad Reem won seemed a lot of people on the web saying he was over hyped and over rated and hadn't fought anyone that decent. Ok Brock wasn't ever going to set the world on light again but he beat him and beat him easily.

The Fitch fight was hilarious literally the first punch BOOM he was down, I wonder how it feels to spend something like 8 weeks or more training and for it to be over in 12 seconds?

Diaz brothers come across as morons at time the entire week of rubbish coming from this was just stupid and so over the top, yet they can back up their mouths. It's not all about power, technique, volume of punches and accuracy does so much damage. Overwhelm the opponent don't give him time to breath and just land over and over again.
Was a little annoyed Cerone got suckered in to this he was getting outclassed. He kept landing these leg kicks as well yet didn't follow them up. A lot of the time he was landing them it was causing Diaz to turn side ways on begging for a jab or cross whilst Diaz was open and arms down.

Still waiting to see what the injuries were from this, Brock told Dana he thinks he had broken rib(s). Cerone looked beat up in the press conf.
Dana also said Cain should be able to start training again in around 10 days or so, might get news of a possible fight for him? Mir? Next cotenders?

Yes he's done a lot and that's just fine but there's such a thing as bowing out gracefully. It has long since passed him.

great event... guess my gut felt brock was gonna win again somehow dispite the major odds.

Still in mma fights u cant be ever sure look at cerrone picked apart totaly.....

I felt nam phan would loose also the guy he was fighting was 9-0 and a head coach at the gym @ 23 years old.... + boxing since 15 years old, and each 9 wins a sub.

Still I was saying brock/overeems a coin toss.

Anyhow lets see if overeems uberknees and uber k1 horsekick strikes can simply turn jds into a spongy cushion !

I really really fancy JDS against Overeem. I'm not doubting the striking prowess that Overeem has, I just think JDS is going to beat him to the punch. Preparing for a massive dose of humble pie when the fight does happen, but I think JDS is probably the worst match up in the whole division for Reem.

yup we seen overeem muscle and has good clinch work against the fence... no ones pushing forward on ubereem in fear of a guillotine, sets up a power punch to the body or knee perfectly.

Guys deadly for anyone, I think every heavyweight just got sweaty underpants....

And it's blatant overeem is on illegal growth hormones

Haha i think its pretty obvious they have both been on something

Lesnar in the UFC was a win/win for both sides (fans for UFC/money for lesnar) and im not surprised he has quit already giving his past record of quitting when things aren't all rosey for him, as i said before i cant fault him for trying different things and i doubt anybody else in the world could be thrown in the deepend of MMA and be so successful in such a short amount of time.

Along with the majority of fighters in all weight divisions, maybe not growth hormones but they're certainly on/have been on something.

They're trying to compete and the system is too easily duped. For every £1 spent trying to trace PEDs theres £10 trying to hide them.

If caught they need hit hard though, the message needs sent and at the minute suspensions and fines just don't cover it.

Hoping UFC absorbs the big names of Strikeforce, they've got the most of them now and there's some interesting matchups to be made.

Overeem is just the beginning, glad to have him, sorry to see Brock go.
HW is the weakest division in my eyes and the more variety of opponents you can add to the mix the better it will be for the sport.

Brock certainly posed his own unique challenges and it's unfortunate his health has really made his decisions for him.

As ad said above "I commend any man willing to step into the cage!"

Mismatch really, Brock should be up against the likes of Kongo, Barry, Mitrione etc. Heck, he's not even as experienced as those guys, shame he had to leave.

I think JDS will beat Ubereem, going off the Werdum fight & a few others, he's a bit of a gasser and doesn't have the strongest chin ever.
