Based on that fight I think that CS will struggle against Silva..
Perhaps the last fight was a one off as he looked terrible tonight..

Evans v Davis is gonna be interesting!
 
i dont see any one beating JBJ this year, would like to see him beat evans, henderson, and then im not sure who. but i would like to see him face Anderson, before anderson retires.

I hope all the Bisping haters give him the respect he deserves now.

I dunno how they give the first two rounds to Sonnen.

I really like both fighters but I can't help thinking that was just wrong last night
 
I really am confused by the uproar on this one. I thought Chael took the first round last night, I've rewatched it in the cold light of day and I'm still convinced that Chael takes the first round.

Two takedowns, a few good shots, about a minute of having Bisping up against the cage, working for the 90 or so seconds that Bisping has him up against the cage and slightly losing the brief standing exchanges.

Bisping gets taken down twice, shows how great his wrestling is to pop back up, attempts a takedown, fails. Holds Chael up against the cage and works, is held up against the cage himself and does not work, grabs shorts, breaks and initiates a striking exchange with no clear winner.

I could possibly see how that may be a 50/50 in some peoples eyes, I would personally have given it to Chael for being the agressor and in my opinion getting the better of the exchanges - where has the all the "OMG ROBBERY!!!!111" butthurt come from?

Edit: I think it might have something to do with the pretty awful commentary by Joe Rogan on this one.

The bisping fight could have easily been a 29-28 to either fighter or a draw. It's a shame it wasn't a 5 rounder as sonnen was starting to look tired

It was however probably the best result for the UFC they get the silva sonnen rematch and bisping looked good enough that they can still keep him as a top contender

That's one of the problems with scoring, Chael got the takedowns....but did nothing with them. Non damaging takedowns mean nothing in my mind so when I score a fight I'll look at finishing > damage > control.

Lay and pray needs expunged! :)

It was a good fight though, Sonnen will get Silva and Bisping will get recognition for his skillset.
 
Hahaha at all the idiots who thought Bisping won. Fence holding does not win a round, bloody casual fans not understanding the sport itt!

30-27 Chael myself, Bisping did really well though, surprised me, I dislike him immensely but my respect for him has gone up
 
"Casual fans" make good judges, they see a fight and decide who damaged the other guy more.

Close fight and a good fight, Chael will need to up his game to take Silva and Bisping will have a lot to look forward to in the division.

to be fair Sonnen is the guy I wanted to see fight Silva again. I really like Bisping but Silva would have destroyed him.

I think Munoz would have beat Sonnon last night had their fight gone ahead.

Take Silva out of this weight class and it would make it very interesting indeed
