It may change his fight dynamics though. If he managed to reach 250lbs then I'd imagine his mobility would suffer.

Could he control Lesnar, could he out-box dos santos/Velasquez, could he take a punch from Shane Carwin?

It will be very interesting watching his career, that's for sure!

No doubt about that, I'm just thinking out loud really.

Just going off what he has said about his weight, and the fact he knows he will end up at HW.

I don't think his wrestling is as good as Brocks or Cains and his striking is not as good as Overeem or Dos Santos.

He doesn't seem to have great power at 205, maybe he would have more if he packed on lbs.

I don't think anyone can take a flush full power shot from Carwin :)

I'm not saying JJ is not talented, he clearly is in both striking and wrestling etc.

But the big thing that people at 205 cannot get around is his reach, and even though even at HW he still has the biggest reach, with most people at HW it's only 3-4 inches rather than the foot he has currently.

I agree they need cruiserweight, and also possible an absolute division with no weight limit.

The problem is there are not enough fighters in HW as it is.

If Chael loses to Silva again he is done in the MW division, much like Franklin was.

Even if he doesn't leave the UFC he will leave MW.

I'd love Chael to win, it mixes up the division a bit. But I just see him getting tapped again. 8 of his 11 losses are submissions and nearly all of them are from guard.

His style is great but when he is going all out, he does leave his arm in for triangles and armbars.

If Chael loses again then I'd say the whole MW division is done tbh! I mean who else is there that a) Silva has not fought or b) has improved enough to warrant another crack at the title???

Off the top of my head the only 2 guys that were looking even semi-OK against Anderson are Cote and Hendo! (Is Cote even still in the UFC??? and Hendo is aiming at the LHW belt with his title eliminator against Shogun coming up!)

Silva vs Bones Jones at LHW anyone??? :) *drool....drool...* ;)

Dana has said Hendo could get a MW shot if he beats Shogun, not really sure how or why they have given him a LHW fight if he wants to rematch Silva, but hey.

MW is such a weak division you're right there is nobody really left, I'd like to see Palhares try but he doesn't really deserve it.

Crazy Brit fans would argue Bisping, but he hasn't really beaten anyone anywhere near top 5, but again it's someone new rather than a rematch. An hey if Hardy got a shot for doing nothing, why not Bisping.

Finally Mayhem miller if he beats Bisping might be given a go ahead, again not a rematch.

Cote got dropped a long time ago and hasn't been the same since he damaged his knee.

Who has he beat in the UFC's top 10 MW's ?

http://www.fightmatrix.com/mma-ranks/middleweight/

I know this is a top 10 of all MW's but 8 of the top 10 are UFC fighters, and he hasn't beaten any of them.

An I know MMA maths doesn't work, but he also lost to Marquardt and Hendo, whom Silva beat.

Maybe in the future when he has proved himself, he should get a shot, hell I would like to see it, but he needs to earn it first. If he knocks off 2 people from that list, I see him getting a shot.

I just don't see who else there is for Silva to face. People say Hendo if he gets past Shogun but lets be frank here, aside from an act of god or Shoguns knees blowing out again he is not going to win that fight.

The Palhares loss to Maquardt was more of a freak accident than anything in my eyes, Palhares was going for a heel hook, Nate slipped out of it very easily... Palhares looked at the ref going 'wtf' and basically got smashed in the face, leading to the stoppage.

Palhares brings something that Silva hasn't faced before, absolute top level BJJ (came second in this years ADCC) with great take downs. Thus Silva wont be able to pull his usual crap that he does against BJJ fighters of dancing around them.

Dunno, maybe I'm on Palhares' sack a bit, but I think he'd stand a good chance. You are right that he probably needs a couple more wins before he'll get a shot though.

This is the thing, there isn't really anyone worthy* for him to face without rematches.

He is in one of the weakest divisions and has in effect cleaned it out, he really needs to think about 205 permanently now. He has had 2 fights at 205 and beaten a former champ, so why not move up permanently.

Personally I think Silva is scared of the wrestlers at 205 that could take him down and hold him there, wrestlers who aren't prone to being triangled like Chael. There are plenty at 205 Bader, Davis, Evans, Hamill, Rampage (if he actually chose to wrestle) and Matyushenko etc etc. I'm not saying all these would beat him, but they are all wrestlers with the style to beat him.

I wish Jake Shields had come into the UFC at MW not WW, he has great wrestling and awesome subs too. Yea he may have laid on Silva for the win, but least it would have shaken the division up.

Sucks but that is still an awesome main event.

I saw on Twitter Koscheck was gunning to step in and face Condit, but they are saving Condit for a fight with GSP.

Thing is I thought the winner of BJ Diaz was going to get a shot at whoever won Condit vs GSP, depending on how long he is out surely whoever wins that should face Condit and then the winner face GSP.

Condit was gifted the title fight, this would prove he deserved it.

Do people hate bisping or something? he seems alright to me.

Yes they do.

I don't like him, because:

1. He deliberately knees downed opponents
2. Thinks he is amazing and deserving of a title shot, when he hasn't beaten anyone in top 10
3. Is a useless coach on TUF, who continually misses important events for his fighters.
4. What started my dislike, when he clearly lost to Hammil and was gifted the decision, then acted like he dominated the fight.

But that's just me, I'm sure he has plenty of fans, I just dislike the dude.

the best thing about that is the bonuses, fighters should get a bonus for putting on exciting fights. it should be in all sports, not just fighting. would make people take more risks.

take GSP for example i bet you he doesn't get any bonuses, well not in a long while anyway, his fights are bore fests.

He may take fights to decisions, but name me a recent boring GSP fight?

He is not a lay and prayer, either he out strikes or out grapples people, or both.
