Really enjoyed that.
Miffed I hadn't realised I could have watched the whole thing live on the UFC site, would have much preferred to do that.
ESPN cut out the Pickett fight, how ridiculous?!

Anyone know why the main even wasn't 5 rounds??

Dana said because silva was a replacement for nog, if it had been nog fighting then it would have been 5 rounds

yup the brits did well, still the big one is due next weekend !

I dont think I have ever seen such emotions and heat between Rashad and Jones...its made such a cool history and REAL battle, seems all are on the jones will win wagon, I got a feeling Rashad will surprise us all they both openly talk about there game plans and weaknesses and there so open about it, guess we will find out whos fake next weekend:)

A Very entertaining event.

Gustafsson fights like Jones but less accurate

Cant believe they cut the Brad Pickett fight :( It got fight of the night right?

Edit just seen it online they both went at it like pitbulls

Good event Gustafsson looked really good, reminds me of a big Dominc Cruz and even a bit of BJ Penn in there. Great boxing and footwork and very good front kicks as well, I hope over the next few months he works hard on wrestling and TDD as he struggled against Davis.

If he can work on TDD and wrestling he can be a force at 205 no doubt.

Is anyone else slightly, hmm maybe this is a bit strong but sickened or at least offended by the UFC sponsoring Jon Jones? It seems completely unfair. He claims he doesn't want to be a walking bill board entering the fight so they are sponsoring him. If I was Rashad I would be so ****** right now.
He has come out and said it feels like they don't even want him to be champ and I can see why, it seems completely unfair and rather unsporting to sponsor a single fighter when as an organisation they are suppose to be neutral.

They want Jones to be champ, there is no denying that. They have chosen him as their poster boy.

Much like they wanted Valasquez to remain champ, he brought in more Mexican fans. They already had Silva and Aldo bringing in the Brazilian fans.

It's not the first time the UFC has sponsored a fighter, they were the sponsor for GSP when he was fighting Hardy.

Both times are due to the fighters main support either going bust or being banned close to the fight and they did not want the fighters to lose money on it.

Part of me is starting to dislike the UFC, more the way it is now being presented I am not sold on this whole FX show it felt pretty dire tbh. I don't really like Dana White either.

What's everyone's predictions for the Rashad Jones fight?

I think that Jones is an amazing athlete and has some amazing skills but I think if Rashad can get close to him he could tag him or take him down. Jones has been winning his fights due to his wrestling and reach and I don’t think he has been tested the way Rashad can test him. It will be a good fight and I just hope that Rashad does not go in angry and swinging and get caught because if he can get on the inside to prevent the reach then I think it will be a close fight.

the whole sponser thing just adds fuel to the fire for rashad...

Hes been saying for past year or so, anyone can be beat and your just setting your self up for a mighty fall :)

I feel rashad will chael it, and work on getting 2-3 take downs per round and lay on him with some ground and pound or attempt something unlikely, he knows his game plan and must have another backup game plan he must either get the 1st 3 rounds in his bag and he may just edge out the last 2 rounds to win a decision or he will have to do a arm snapping victory move early on or gnp, that is if he does not chael it.

Either way this is hopefully the true test to the champ, we saw the dragon coming close in some areas to testing bones but we did not really get it but Rashad is another thing :)

If I was a betting man I'd put my money on Jones.

I'm not a massive Rashard fan but I'd rather he won because Jones seems like an ass and I don't like the way Jackson screwed him over.

Either way, it could potentially be an epic fight. :)

I think Jones will win, but want Rashad to.

I don't think Jones is more skilled than Rashad in any aspect of MMA, he just has been blessed with an awesome body for MMA his height and reach and his general athleticism give him a great advantage over lots of fighters.
