Oh no there is, he just hasn't done it yet. I'm not taking anything away from his win, even though I could. The way he finished him was decent but he only got that opportunity because of a stupid mistake Chael made. The sheer hype behind Silva is dumb when there are several fighters out there who could manhandle him like a child. I'd say he deserves his MW title, but not his p4p one.

I do not like Anderson Silva at all because of the way he carries himself, despite the fact he is a good fighter.

Who is going to beat him at middleweight? Because I just dont see anybody out there at the moment.

Would love to see Silva vs Lombard as that's the only person I see in the UFC MW division currently would could possibly give Silva some competition.

The P4P rating thing is a bit flawed as due to weight divisions, different orgs. etc. we won't be seeing these guys competing against each other. That being said when pressed for my opinion on the matter my answer has always been Jose Aldo. It's the little technical things that Aldo does that makes me rate him so highly.

Its been called the segal spider knee trip already....

Anyhow chael failed, was just plain weird to see Kim get a rib spasm and got finished from that but maia was awesome at that weight class....

Next ufc event... this thursday ! munoz vs wieldman

That mistake from Chael is what cost him, I really think if he hadnt done that the fight would have proved to be very exciting, as the rest were just boring. Cant believe i stayed up to watch any of it tbh.

baroas even worser then cruz, even faber said that !

I think this kid has champ written all over him... got that aldo and young hungry confident yet vicious thing going on.

And yes was painfull staying up till 5:30am to watch Chael fall over like that but then the segal trip had to be seen.

I see Dana posting afterwards it was one of the biggest and best shows yet! The whole was awful to be honest. Even with the main fight, when they came out it still seemed quite flat? I don't know what was missing but something wasn't there for it in my opinion.
Part of me has maybe got a little bored of it, it was on so often at one point just about every week then we had that short spell when nothing was on. I just can't get to excited about a fight certainly won't be staying up for any more. Did it a few times in the past and last night and it isn't worth the hassle. Maybe I need a break from it for a short period.

Nah, the cobra punch is what started it all off. I think it rocked Chael and after that it went downhill very fast for him. Anderson must hit really hard because he did the same thing to Forest when he KO'ed him but I kind of put that down to Forest being chinny at the time.

This puts Chael in the same position Franklin was in, too good for the rest but not good enough for the champ.

Will he go to 205, he has fought there before so can't see why not.

Overall was a pretty lackluster event :(

Agreed, very disappointing event.

What was up with the blatant attempt to cheat by Silva? First the greasing, then the holding the shorts? Poor refereeing by Lavigne.

Either way he did what he does, Sonnen has the perfect style to beat him in my eyes but the question is can he go 5 rounds without getting caught? 2 results suggests not.

The Ortiz and Forrest fight was amateurish, Tito raves about altitude training but at the end of the day his cardio was a joke in that fight. Can't believe people were actually booing the decision, what fight were they watching?

What did people think of the Mendez vs Mckenzie fight, it looked like he barely touched him!

Maia vs Kim was weird too.

I think its more perfect timing and clean counter punching that give Silva's strikes that edge, not just raw power.

Silva vs Palhares would be good, love to see Silva fight with one leg.

This... grabbed the shorts twice if i remember rightly... shocking, i was looking forward to Sonnen kicking some butt, i enjoy his smack talking haha

Palhares wouldn't have the chin I think. Couldn't take Belchers GnP. A combo of Nelsons Chin and striking, Palhares BJJ and Sonnens wrestling is about the only thing that would beat Silva at the moment.

Wednesday between Munoz and Weidman will decide the Number 1 contender. Think Bisping will have one more fight and if he wins he will get a title shot, if Silva is still around in two or three fights time. Maybe against the loser of Munoz/Weidman or the winner of Lombard/Boetsch.

The Heavyweights need Overeem back and Cormier and Cole Konrad in the division to spice things up. You only have three elite fighters at the moment in Werdum, JDS and Velasquez.

Actually another one to consider. Brian Ebersole. Fights in pretty much any weight category has an iron chin and seems to have great BJJ defence. Needs two or three more fights in the UFC. I think he is very underrated and loved the way he was brawling on the ground against TJ: using shoulders and just slamming him around on the ground. On a 10 fight win streak with the last loss being to Hector Lombard.

The heavyweights also have Mir mate, do not overlook that guy, seriously. He just falls short to elite strikers, mark my words we haven't seen the last of Mr. Mirtastic.

Don't forget Travis Brown.

I was rather shocked too, whether he got wiped down or not makes no difference, he's still greasy.
Think of the up roar when BJ accused GSP of greasing? I've seen very little of it online elsewhere.
Not to mention the full on hanging off Sonnen's shorts.

I'm sorry but I just can't bring myself to put Werdum in the "Elite" bracket - his "fight" with Overeem in the Strikeforce GP was downright embarrassing!

I can understand not wanting to stand and trade with someone like Overeem but to basically lie down and invite your opponent onto you is gutless!

Just can't bring myself to like the guy since then!
