Classic Striker vs Grappler though, Mir's advantage within grappling is much more significant than Daniel's advantage standing, although thats how its been in every one of Mir's fights, so your probably right. Why he doesn't go to Xtreme Couture or Deathclutch and roll with Overeem/Lesnar for a few months is beyond me, he needs a better wrestling game. If he could force the fights to the ground he'd be the best in the world right now. I don't get why he gets oustruck so much though, hes a Kenpo Shodan...
Would love to see him vs Werdum.

LAS VEGAS – On Monday Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White announced that UFC on FOX 4 headliners Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (20-6 MMA, 4-4 UFC) and Brandon Vera (12-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC) are competing this weekend for a shot at the promotion's light-heavyweight title.
He later told USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that co-headliners Ryan Bader (14-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) and Lyoto Machida (17-3 MMA, 9-3 UFC) also will have that opportunity.
"Whoever wins the most impressively on Saturday night gets the shot at the title," White said.
"I put together the fights that fans want to see," White said. "The fans didn't like the Rua and Vera choice, so here it is: The guy that wins most impressively on Saturday night out of the co-main event and the main event will get the shot at the winner of Jon Jones vs. Dan Henderson."
Shogun and Machida are both coming off loses, both were dominated by Jones, and now they're both one fight away from another title shot?
I remember when 205 used to be the deepest division, now apparently it is the shallowest.
And as for Vera and Bader, well they have also both been dominated by Jones and are even less deserving of a title shot than Shogun or Machida.
Problem is I can't actually think of anyone else more deserving of a title shot, Jones basically cleaned out the division in barely a year. I guess we had better hope that Hendo lands a H-bomb and makes 205 interesting again.
edit: actually more excited to see Rousey fight again than by anything the UFC is offering in August.
Alexander Gustafsson after a few more wins should get a shot at Jones.
Gustafsson is a prospect but he needs a top 10 win.
Davis (who beat Gustafsson quite convincingly) is closer to a title shot, but he had nothing for Evans and would have even less for Jones.
Gustafsson has won 5 in a row, Diabate, Te-Huna, Hamill, Matyushenko and Thiago Silva.
Jones beat Vera, Matyushenko and Bader before getting a title shot.
It wasnt so much about the quality of Jones' oponents that got him the title shot either, it was the way that he brutally disposed of them inside a round, one after another.
UFC on Fox Press conf is live right now.

This fight card will debut the 'ref cam'.
Also seems Shogun and Machida are down for a trilogy fight. Maybe coaching the next TUF Brazil.
