Good title fight. Injury in condit/Woodley fight not a great end. Lombard totally showed he is not ready for the big guys. Prelims were much better than the ppv.

Good title fight as has been said. Not too happy with the winner mind, but that is personal preference haha.

Agree with the injury. It was shaping up to be a great fight as well.

Lombard seems to be a really boring fighter. Not impressed at all.

Found the last few seconds of the final fight disappointing. Just sat there!

Partly due to my personal preference on who I wanted to win.

Also as has been said the injury to the fight before was a shame.
Pre lims were very good!

Looking forward to Fight Night, which I think is next weekend.

really?

He just made a top 5 ww look like a bum off the street. Look at the people Shields has beat he is a top ww contender and Lombard completely shut him down the only other fighter I've seen do that is GSP.

IMO this win puts him a fight away from a title shot

In top position your not supposed to lay there. It's a fight, you advance position or throw leather. I can watch 2 guys lay on the mat as long as they are trying to do something. My fat mom can sit on Shields for 15 mins, doesn't make her a contender.

Compared to Hendricks/Lawler he looked positively horrid. He would be out of steam half way through round 2 with the other guys picking him apart. Needed a break by laying on Shields.

Needs less bulk more stamina to be a real contender in my opinion as 5 rounds would fatigue him.

Thought the title fight was poor personally. Both guys just standing there, no footwork, Hendricks for the most part just throwing love taps because he knows he can't go 5 rounds at full blast.... If Woodley sorts his gas tank out, i'd favour him heavily. Rory Mcdonald would be a serious issue for Hendricks as well.

Good card imo - enjoyed 90% of the fights!

Wow, we must have been watching different fights because I thought it was very entertaining! "Love taps" - lol :D - can anyone go full blast for 5 rounds? Nope, I didn't think so!

GSP must be glad he left after seeing Hector Lombard manhandle Jake Shields.

That dude's huge amazing he makes 170lbs

He looks great but simply doesn't have the stamina! GSP would out-work and out-point him over 5 rounds for the decision imo!

Nick Diaz
Guida
Pettis
Cain
Edgar
GSP

All immediately spring to mind.

How many of those hit with the kind of power that Hendricks does when he's throwing at "full blast"?

None of them, because they pace themselves rather than blowing their load in the first and running on empty for the rest of the fight.

None of those fighters pace themselves full stop, regardless of punching power, or style, because they have the gas tank. When I said "full blast" I wasn't referring to wild full power punches, I simply meant 100% with their respective style, whether it be grappling/striking.

With the possible exception of Guida and possibly Edgar from your list, the other guys you mention can go "full blast" because their styles mean they can! (although I don't think anyone can describe GSP as going "full blast" all the time :D)

Would you rather have seen both Hendricks and Lawler throwing bombs for two rounds and then leaning against one another for the remaining three?

Great fight imo and I'd love to see a rematch at some point!

That's what basically Hendricks did in the 5th ;) Led on him for the best part of the round to pickup the win.

Is BT Sports the only place to get UFC stuff nowadays? I used to have ESPN but when they lost the UFC contract I stopped watching it :-/

On Sky I believe so, although the London card was on Channel 5 surprisingly! I think that was more likely just a one off what with being in the UK.

Yeah I watched the London card which is watch peaked my interest again!

I live in Hull so the only TV we can get is SKY or council tv :eek::eek:

I think lombard was impressive, yeah boring and rogan was right he should go for the finish more so if he knows the others guys dead already.

What we have here is the same issue with all the ufc fighters once you get to the top level and no1/2/3 ranks you play it safe to get that title shot.

Nick diaz has said he is ready to fight now.......

Lombard used fight iq and reserved his cardio in case.

Can say the exact same thing with woodley, in fact woodley was awesome lovely overhand rights just put condits no2 rankings down to 6 ;) And those fast take downs and that leg kick to finish if not retire condit was great.

Condit is a great fighter and deserves to be champ however he will always get out grappled and out wrestled and taken down, he just never evolved his game enough to add that into his striking arsenal. I think its his long tall lanky frame that makes his base too easy to take down even.

In woodley/lombard we got new beast for the 170 division, true they will find it hard against the likes or rory/shields/ellberger/condit/hendrix/lawler etc but if they can manage 2-3 solid rounds where they win them and dominate they can already half way there imo.

Cardio is important but they showed cardio reserving and fight iq to the top level which will help them both.

GSP ain't coming back not after seeing hendricks and then lombard no way...
