nd to be honest would be pretty disrespectful to Volk
You seen how the UFC works? :D

Im down for Lopes Evloev 2.
Again my main concern is you've take a 36 year old, who's lost his last 2 fights by heavy knockout and propelling him back to the top young hungry fighters, theres not many out there that handle that.

'Propelling him back to the top' of a division he's only lost one fight in is really stretching the language used I think, he hasn't fallen down the pecking order to need to be 'propelled' anywhere - he's still in the mix at the top of the division on merit.

I edited my last post but i'll copy it here:

lets put a bit of context to his LW losses too - he moved to LW because he'd pretty much cleared out FW at the time, was PFP #1 and had already defended against Max multiple times. Makhachev was basically the only fight available to him and he took it to a close decision. He then went back to FW and beat the interim FW champion, before being asked to take on Makhachev again on 10 days notice before then continuing with the planned Topuria fight. Simplifying the situation to 'yeah but he lost 2 fights in a row' is really too simplistic to give a fair reflection of his standing in the division and the company as a whole.

If anyone is going to handle life at the top of the division against some hungry new competition, it's probably the guy that's only lost one fight at featherweight and a couple of times a weight division up against one of the most dominant champions currently in the UFC.

You're a casual. :D

Volk has lapped the featherweight division several times and Lopez has been fast tracked with Dana While privilege. To write Volk off as a has-been, just because he lost only to Islam and Ilia, is a bad take.

He may lose to Lopez, but if he doesnt will still be a worthy champ.
