Am I just being stupid or could you score a round for the fighter on the bottom if they fighter on top just lays on you? Surely you get more points for defending everything instead of just laying there.

King Mo versus Gegard Mousasi comes to mind, King Mo spent the whole fight on top but mounted no significant offense whilst Mousasi was very active from the bottom landing many strikes. The judges still scored in favour of King Mo, but in truth he did nothing after he secured the takedown.
 
Fingers crossed that tonight's event is a bit more entertaining!

Would love to see Browne KO Werdum - disliked Werdum ever since his "fight" with Overeem in the Strikeforce Grand Prix - he basically wouldn't engage and at one point even laid on his back of his own accord and invited Overeem into his guard! :mad:

I've heard he injured his knee in that fight which might explain why he was so reluctant to stand with Overeem. Well, that and the fact that Overeem has some of the most vicious striking and ability to manhandle people in all of MMA (When he's not gassed that is :p)

Anyway yeah some good fights on tonight. Particularly looking forward to Browne vs Werdum and Cerrone vs Barboza.
 
You guys ever catch The Tommy Toe Hold Show? Its a parody of MMA news, this weeks one was absolutely hilarious, had me in pieces.
 
i know were a while away from the main event but i cant help but notice how many empty seats there are, maybe the amount of events the UFC is putting on is too many? :eek:

Empty seats is the norm for the prelims in the US.

Though I do wish they'd concentrate on stacking cards rather than making them more frequent. No arguments about tonight's card though!
 
Loved the banter from werdum. Browne started it but was outclassed :p
Was it the 3rd or 4th round ? Hey I broke his nose maybe you should stop the fight lol
