It's not the greatest card I've ever seen but not the worst either. Colby Vs Masvidal is obviously a huge grudge match, although I expect Colby to maul him.

RDA Vs Moicano should be a good scrap and I'm always up for watching Greg Hardy get whooped again.

That being said, we don't have to pay extra for PPVs in the UK so I'd be watching it anyway :)

In other news did anyone see Cain Velasquez is facing attempted murder charges?

We can't be letting people go about doing whatever they want it's just not going to lead to a safe society, it a disgrace that fathers have to rectify the laws failures.

You can't use a gun as a way to get even for something like that though.

Back to UFC. I'm really looking forward to it this weekend. There's no bigger heel in MMA than Covington and who doesn't like Masvidal? That's enough for me. Especially considering these sort of real life grudges don't happen anywhere near as much as they used to in the UFC now that the number of events has sky rocketed and the roster is so big.

Looking forward to it myself, couldn't guess who's gonna win which makes it even more interesting. Main card looks like it's gonna be a good one, almost a changing of the guard feel to it bar Hardy vs Spivak.. hopefully Spivac willl get him out there in short order.

On days so will have to catch up in the morning once I'm at work and it's quiet (which it should be, it's a Sunday after all). Hoping for a good main event and with a finish.

Ended up ordering it anyway. Weather is a bit average, what else better to do on a Sunday afternoon?
Entertaining card so far. RDA fight about to start.

Rubbish main event, especially after the hype.

Can't wait to see Chimaev smesh both of em.

RDA v Moicano probably the best. I really like Moicano, really good, accurate boxer....and obviously got hell of a chin and heart. Gassed out though, probably shouldn't have taken a 5 rounder at short notice, but I'm sure he'll get more good fights.

Domination from Colby pretty much, Masvidal spent a large portion of the fight just surviving. That one good shot aside he just got melted.

Seeing Hardy get smashed is always a pleasure.

Masvidal had that one moment when he could have tried to go in for the kill when he really wobbled him and Bisping and co were practically begging him to advance and keep throwing shots… but he just froze up and stopped in his tracks. Dumb.

Hopefully Chimaev can just steamroll Burns and make the top of Welterweight interesting again.

Nah, Masvidal is very smart, he was totally gassed and knew he'd struggle fighting the inevitable level change and takedown. Masvidal arms gassed early wich suprised me, against someone like Colby you'd think he'd have been doing a lot of transitioning between striking and grappling in camp.

Yep, that was his one chance to go in for the kill and he didn't take it. It was a display of both hesitancy and low fight IQ.

At that point any top tier striker, no matter how gassed, should find some adrenaline and go for the kill when someone is wobbled, because you never know if you will get another chance. They rush in and try to overwhelm while the opponents are still dizzy. By not doing that any allowing Colby to recover he only made things harder for himself. It certainly was not 'very smart' and it was also not the sign of a well conditioned fighter.

This fight just highlighted how weak Masvidals game actually is and his lack of evolution is why he keeps losing big fights. He is a big name and character, but far from the best the UFC has to offer and has been riding on his reputation for a long time now.

Not sure how Masvidal ever got a rematch with Usman, he arguably didn't deserve the title shot in the first place.

He beat a 155'er in Diaz, a flash KO of Askren and a KO of Till. No doubt those were good wins, but he's been riding those for a couple of years.

He's 0 and 3 in his last 3, 35 and 16 total. Colby is right, Masvidal is and was a journeyman.

Agree with what Richdog said. Fighters at that level should be looking to find a way to win. Jon Jones did it time and time again. Calling him a journeyman is a bit of a stretch I think but he's far from top level. Such a shame because I can't stand Covington, he's probably worse than Tony Ferguson.

As for the rest of the event, it wasn't great and there was more terrible judging again. *facepalm*

Main event sucked, the rest was good fun. Alex Perreira looks like he’s got a way to go before he’s ready to beat Izzy in the octagon vs a kickboxing ring but he looks like he hits SO hard, can’t believe that guy managed to not keel over before the bell in the third. Dober fight had one of the best over-in-the-first rounds you’ll ever see.

Just got through watching this and couldn't agree more. Plenty of decent stuff on the undercard but the main event was poor. I'm not sure why Ankalaev thinks he can challenge for the title after that. I'm not sure I believe him when he said that he wanted to go 5 rounds either? Not much of a draw to see him fight in a main event again.
