Not feeling well, think Ive got the fever.

For anyone on my list my gamer tag has changed, for anyone not on my list with this game send over a friends request.

Dont get me wrong, its a great game, it will last me another year but next year they need to get the other bits right. The gameplay is pretty much there, the manager mode is not.

This is worrying. I bought this game knowing that I wouldn't be playing online much so was hoping for a decent equivalent to master league having made the switch this year from Pro Evo. I loaded up manager mode yesterday and I'm struggling with it so far. My mine gripe is that it simply takes forever to do anything.

Trying to find new talent is much more time consuming and scouting seems pointless because I can't tell the single most important factor when a scout returns with a result - age! (Maybe that's just me not looking correctly). Being able to refine your searches based on how interested a player is in joining would be a good addition to I think.

I'm hoping I'll get into it a lot more as the season goes on but at the mo it's not grabbing my attention as much as master league did. :(
 
I scored a sublime goal on this earlier to record my first convincing online win. :D All one-touch pass and move from inside my own half capped with a great finish. I still wish you could save online replays. :(

Until they let us save replays to the hard drive it isn't going to happen. Theres no way I would sit there for 2 mins whilst someones xbox encoded the replay to flv and then uploaded it to the EA servers and they know this.

I don't know why FIFA uses that system- we should be able to save all replays to the HDD then upload the ones we want to at a later stage.

It is strange though isnt it. Im really not sure what it is. Im just not bothered about finding young talent. Im finding it hard to score, so when the ball finally goes in, its a real treat.
 
Can anyone tell me how you perform the "Advanced Rainbow" trick in the arena? I can do the normal one, but how do you do the advanced one? Need it to get 5 star ball skills :p

on PS3 its hold L2and at the same time flick down then hold up for a second and then flick up on the R stick.

(assume it's similar on the xbox)

I've bought pro evo every year as it felt less "detached" to me, but playing it this year felt very little different than last year. I've picked up FIFA 10 for £25 and am going to run with it this year and see how I go.

Check out the skills guide. Go to your pro and skills, go down to the star rating at the bottom of the list and scroll down with R3. Here you can see the skills you have performed. Hit Triangle and it will bring up the guide to how to do the tricks like advanced rainbow.

Short guide if using alternate config: Hold down L2 start dribbling forward flick R3 down then R3 up but hold it for a split second then flick R3 up.
 
Games full of bugs.

The first 3 were encountered in the first two games I played -

1. Players starting in others halves.
2. Snowy pitches not loading properly - it would have the same effect on the ball and players but not load the pitch correctly, making it look like a normal pitch.
3. When playing an actual snowy pitch it changes between two shades of green when playing, like someone is turning a light switch on and off.

There are a lot more being reported on the fifa forums etc, but as I said, these 3 are the first I got within the first two games of playing.
