LOL just go and have your seperate thread and enjoy it without involving the 'same people as usual'. Its not like its at all indicative that this FIFA 13 thread has been kept ticking over by the 'same people as usual', I wonder how long a non-UT thread would survive outside of 'whens the transfer update due?!?'

I don't like UT either, it's a shame the FIFA threads eventually turn into an UT thread. UT is so boring.

The posters on the list above are also the ones who are keeping the FIFA 12 thread ticking over, without those members posting then the 12 thread would be dead as a doornail. Very rarely does a question in the FIFA 12 thread go unanswered, people don't talk about the other game modes because virtually nobody plays them, if they did then we'd have much more talk about those other modes surely.
Also, the members who have expressed interest in a FIFA 13 thread and a separate Ultimate Team thread have hardly featured in this thread so if they're really that interested then why haven't they been posting about the game more?

Like Andy said surely it should all be happy and normal in this thread now he's agreed to separate threads and us UT lot or the other FIFA lot can laugh either way when one thread dies on its bottom or they get merged

Main reason I haven't is because it'll be the same as the last few games, Where UT gets the main attention & then the rest of the game gets a little look at after they've fixed all the problems with UT. It is really frustrating that nothing gets touched apart from the transfer updates.
As I say UT should be a completely separate game in my opinion of course.
The one mode I do play has been broken/completely untouched till now. That is clubs mode.

It's a shame about clubs as it was a really fun mode to play with a semi organised team, apparently they've made some good changes to it though, AI players who rank up with the team for example.
Shame theres not enough dedicated players here on either platform to sustain a Club anymore - I used to love it and made the conscious decision in FIFA 12 to not even try it. I might do in FIFA 13, just depends if there are enough likeminded people - learnt thats very rare IMHO...

Ultimately though , UT makes them cash so naturally they will concentrate on that part of the game.
This much is true & we all know EA loves getting as much money out of people as possible. But to the detriment to the rest of the game & alienating some of the fan base that just isn't interested in it at all.
If FIFA13 turns out to be a UT love fest like the last few then I think it'll be the end of FIFA for me.

I agree,however unfortunately people like yourself are in the minority and EA are not going plough all their Dev's into the less popular side of things
There was at least 8 of us who tried the Clubs mode in Fifa 12 on Xbox for about a week. It was good fun but it didn't last due to:
1. The Goalkeepers being ridiculously overpowered whether they were AI or human.
2. The AI players being really poor resulting in one of us having to go ANY, which just happened to be most of the time.
If they are improving the Clubs side of it in 13 then maybe more of us would play it? If not then probably most will play UT, as I personally, and as has been said, find the other modes just dull. Doesn't stop others from discussing the other modes though and I'm sure people would be willing to help out with any questions.

Didn't have a problem with AI goalkeepers, Well apart from them being absolutely rubbish! I wouldn't say they were overpowered.
They were indeed overpowered with a human controlling them though! Loads of times I've seen a keeper jump up off the floor like he's superman & pull off some amazing save on the other side of the goal. Which in reality no real life keeper would have been able to save.
The overall AI though is just meh! Even when you have someone decent controlling them as any they are completely useless. So I'm glad they are putting in the scaling AI. Whether that'll sort the problems out or not is a different matter.
Add to that the stupid servers that can't seem to handle that amount of players. VP's that have been hacked so you have 7ft Heskey running around like Usain Bolt & things start to get that little bit more frustrating! I could add more but I can feel the rage inside me building.
The problem with clubs mode is nothing gets done to it, They released it half baked & just let it rot year on year.
So I'm kind of happy they've at least done something this year. I guess we'll see after a week of playing it.
Another problem is the demo is nothing like clubs mode so I can't tell from the demo if it'll be rubbish or not!
Divaboy I understand what you are saying. But the way I see it is if they are going to add these features/modes into the game & make a big song & dance about it like they did with the "we are 11" rubbish. Make sure they work properly!

We might of been playing against human controlled goalkeepers then. Would certainly explain some of the ridiculous saves they were able to pull off. The other odd thing was that our VP's never seemed to play that well despite some of the stats they had. Whether that was because most of us were coming from playing mostly UT and were used to that style of play, I don't know.
I think it was Human GKs that were the nightmare, because people could max out their stats to madness too.
The speed of gameplay threw people off for a while too also I believe as I think UT is a notch or two faster than Career/Club/H2H.
