^^ thanks :)

edit: just found a database which 'starts' 1st January 2110 - presumably someone went on holiday for ages.

Arsenal are the richest club by a long way (worth over 1bn) whereas Chelsea are in L2. Quite interesting to look at even if people don't fancy playing it.

freaky freak!

Started a new game with Exeter in L2 (updated the database following the play-off finals) and am having unbelieveable luck with injuries. Out of my squad of 25 players:

Wood was injured when I brought him in but the rest have all happened recently. We're outside of the transfer window so it's a case of trying to bring in loanees but I've already used up 2 of my short-term loans and it's not an easy task getting good players to come to L2.

Think I may need to tweak my training schedules as 6 of those players are central midfields / AMC and the other 2 are wingers. It has left me very short in those positions!!

Any help tried loadsa tatics

I've just started to play this, and could do with some tips on some decent signings to make for Ipswich, using v8.02. Found a few good players but am struggling to get anyone decent who wants to come to the club, So any ideas??

Incredibly annoyed again!!

Was dominating a game against Grimsby but couldn't score. Then had my keeper sent off in the 61st minute and went on to lose 2-0. Commentary said something along the lines of "that looked a harsh decision" so I criticised the decision in the post match interview and they admitted it was incorrect:

This made me think I would likely win the appeal against the red card but unbelieveably:

We're short enough on players as it is (see above) and this just makes things worse!

*Snips indignant manager ranting of epic proportions* :D

Could have been worse. I got a touchline ban for getting all bolshy with the FA over such an incident. Embarrassingly my assistant did a very good job in the match I missed. :D

Invariably I find the commentary to be misleading most of the time, and it's even worse when your players think a goal was offside and it clearly wasn't. I tend to suck it up and avoid feeling the wrath of the FA, or the board. This might explain my player/club loyalty rating of 6. ;)

Im just planning my squad for next season.
3 positions i need to replace players in.
2 of those will be replaced by players from my reserve team who are out on loan.
However im a little stuck on one point.
My AMC-L.

As Gourcuff is retiring, i need another AMC-L to rotate with Pato.
I have two options.

I can either put my DL there. Who has the stats to play anywhere on the left side of the pitch (17+ in all key areas for anywhere down the left). And then, from my reserve team, i have a 155/170 Italian DL i can put in his place.

OR

I put in a 150/189 AMC player from my youth team, or buy another AMC.

Thoughts?

My team atm:
GK: Akinfeev / Castaldo.
DL: Christiansen / Lama.
DC: Criscito / Tuia.
DC: Breno / Meissner.
DR: Zaballa / Banti.
MC: Fabregas / Marchisio.
MC: Banega / Petit.
AMC-L: Willemse / Pato.
AMC-C: Nasri / Gourcuff.
AMC-R: Aguero / Douglas.
ST: Bojan / Balotelli.

Retires/sells:
MC: Marchisio
AMC-C: Gourcuff
ST: Balotelli

Replacements:
MC: Gambino (150/189 @ 22 years).
ST: Corradi (187/197 @ 23 years).
AMC-C: Swap Willemse to AMC-C from AMC-L.
AMC-L: Christiansen or Unknown.

Put the youngster, if they get first team football they get better very quickly.

I started a game on the iMac with Crystal Palace, my god its hard to sign people :p.

150 sounds pretty high for a 22 year old. 24 is when they stop developing but I imagine that player could definitely reach 170+ in 2 years if he plays all the games. I assume 170+ is world class? I would check up on his performances and look at his progression at the end of the season when he turns 23, then decide whether you think hes gonna be good enough for your team.

So you both think i should push my current DL to AMC-L, where he's also a natural, and drop the Italian left back in as DL?

Heres my current first choice DL:
As you can see, excellent stats for both a defender and an attacking midfielder.
Claus.jpg

And here is the DL from my reserve team:
Not amazing stats, but has the most of the key areas for a DL.
Bene.jpg

Im a little hesistant to push Claus up, as he does VERY well at DL.
A combination of him and my DR gets me a combined total of 30-40 assists a season from there.
So its a bit of a risk, he might do stunning at AMC-L, and make up for that, but on the other hand, he might not.

On the other hand, i do have £140m to play with for an AMC, and theres a nifty looking one in my reserve team as well:

Hi, quite new to football manager, doing very well with liverpool winning the league 4 years in a row, champions league 3 times, and FA 3 times... so quite pleased!

I have splashed out the cash for big signings like Silva £35.5m, Aguero £25m, Richards £38m, Dos Santos Free, Bojan £55 etc

When signing players like Richards, Dos Santos and Bojan scout reports said they have potential to be quality players (5-6 stars). I am in my 2011 season and they don't seem to have improved, infact last time i looked bojan was going down (although performing very well). I have fiddled with the training a bit but nothing seems to work. They were all described as wonderkids but their attributes have not really improved much and their coach reports change between potential to be good and quality...

What am i doing wrong?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Just depends really... sometimes the standards change, their training decreases.

As long as they play well its fine! Plus your assistant could be getting worse in CA/PA too :p.

Just re read that... Richards £38m?
