Scouting them all now. Trying to get VDV to replace Scholes so that I can choose from Anderson/Van Der Vaart which I think would be a nice situation to be in. Only got £6.6m at Man Utd so I will have to wait until the end of the season and get some money for him.
Structured deal.
If he hasnt changed club yet, you can get him for between £12 & £16m.
Offer something like £5m up front, then a further £10m over 24 months. Then wack on something like 20% sell on, and extra £2-3m after 40 goals, and they should bite.
Basically with structured deals, if you offer them more than they ask, but over a longer time period, they'll have more of a chance of accepting. As they'll get more money, and you get the player early.
Remember to keep an eye on all your clauses though.
If your offering X amount for several players a month, make sure that your actual income each month is greater than this, or you'll run yourself into debt.

yea agree with a lot of the above. Milan are a good team to loan players from if you are in need due to the quality they have in their reserves. Just about to chase Gourcuff myserlf
re Keepers, have you tried; Diego Cavalieri
seems to be the no.1 keeper to me and have the price of akinfeev.
Re Calaio i wouldnt buy him but its true that he is my top scorer after 8 games with 10 goals. he misses an aweful lot though...

Little update withmy game. Still cant get a job 
Spurs asked me and I said no. Dont want another premiership club. Spain and Argentina places came up but they picked other managers. No other european clubs have come availible yet and its been a season already.
Just got to wait really till the chance comes.

Yep I agree. The number of ruddy MCs my scouts find is annoying! Find me strikers or wingers or keepers. 
Although I am finding all too often that my scouts will come back from a region and tell me that they found no players at all! I mean all I want is a list of decent players aged 18 or younger.

Ive found that ive gotten two 'potential's from my youth team already!
That was quick, usually takes ages to get a few after upgrading the youth academy..

GK - Eros Corradini - 18 - Parma - Good for a team mid prem or so, PA of about 169 apparantly. Bargain at £10-40k, he gets better at about 20 years old.
AMRLC - Silva - 21 - Valencia - Brilliant winger, and can play in the centre. Def worth purchasing, if your top 8 prem or so.
MC - Jeremy Toulalan - 24 - Olympique Lyonnais - Good player, good for any team.
AMC - Diego - 22 - Werder Bremen - Brilliant AMC, similar to Van Der Vaart.
DC - Ezequiel Garay - 21 - Racing - Similar player to Kompany.
AMC - Samir Nasri - 20 - Olympique de Marseille - Similar to Van Der Vaart.
ST - Fred - 24 - Olympique Lyonnais - Good player, would be good for any team, scores goals often.
ST - Vagner Love - 23 - CSKA Moscow - Same story as Fred, when i signed him, scored 23 in 19 apps.

Im on about scouting as well.
For example, if i scout Okaka with my best scout at the beginning of the game, im told he's not worth diddly squat.
Yet 2 seasons later he's the best thing since sliced bread?
Yeah I see what you mean. I've seen the same player mentioned by several people all playing FM08 so I know he has to a) have the potential to be good and b) become ruddy good yet my scouts say there isn't much point in getting him. Unless the game is making the scouts compare the scouted player to my squad. So if the current ability of a player is nowhere near the current ability of the best player I have in that position the scouts say he's rubbish even if his potential ability means he could rival or even beat my equivalent players in the future?

That issue has been sort of fixed, with scouts saying that player X is the x best in that position.
Although what annoys me also is several players who aparentely are no-where near good enough to be better than player X, is rated 11th best, is classed as a 'decent' player by my scouts? huh?

Haha yeah. I love that. Player X would be the 11th best central midfielder in the squad. And he's a decent buy. Right so someone who is about as good as a rubbish reserve team player is a decent buy?

YES i love Briand always has done awesome for me in old games havent got hold of him on FM08 though
Also about the lad who posted Nasri, has some decent stats but as a AMC he is awful imo, gets into decent positions but his finishing is almost has bad as my goalkeeper

BUT Do you ever have a scout that tells you a player is amazing who turns out to be a dud?
NO because scoutage is broken and has been for numerus years. I.e they can only be wrong 1 way, but no matter how good the scout is they will never be right,
i.e take Okaka, say i had a scout who was 10/10 potential and ability scouting attributes, and he says Okaka is Average, surely using a scout which is 20/20 Ability and potential will tell you the truth?

However, if you find a real chump and use the same pair of scouts, the bad one will not come back and claim him to be a wonderkid when he isnt...

I see what you mean. My scouts only ever say someone will be brilliant. Sometimes I doubt this so I check the player out in the Editor and find his PA is quite low.
