Hi there i have tried mucking about with wages etc... becareful cuz lets say original wage packet for MKDons was 50k a week, but then u increase it in the editor to 70k. And u also reduce the current players wages. it actuactually shrinks ** wage packet allowed to like 35k... so its definately all linked somewhere.
I'm not sure how transfer fees work, I'm managing Gillingham Coca Cola Div 1 and I'm top the league, however my transfer budget is a poxy 20K which means I can't afford any good players.
I wondered if this'll raise at all, or is there a way I can request more money? The club has good income and good cash flow, undefeated in 10 games.
This is my first season ever, so I'm a little unsure of stuff.
Oh and oddly I have no real interest in football as a whole, I don't watch it or support it. lol

Pretty good! Does anyone have him in their team? He doesn't seem to be progressing at all in mineseems pretty average, albeit consistent so far. Certainly not the wonderkid he was hyped up to be! Strangely, Alexandre Song has just turned into a wonderkid, lol.
Also, has anyone here managed to sign Micah Richards from Man City? If so, how much for?! I've offered up to £27.5 million (not that I would have actually gone through with that), and flatly rejected. Currently also deliberating whether to sell Rosicky, Milan have offered £33m for him (£20m up front), but he's really good

have done some investigating with the Arsenal team at the start of the game using various hidden attribute revealer things on multiple starts.
Walcott normally gets a max potential of around 155-175 which is why most of the time he isn't quite as good as people expect him to be. (Bit like real-life really as he's hardly blossomed into a world-class striker has he?). Other young Arsenal peeps also get wildly different potential ratings at the start of a new game. Have seen Traore, Clichy, Denilson, Djourou, Song, Bendtner & Vela all get "wonderkid" levels of potential from time to time.
Have had a £35m eventually accepted at the start of 1 new game playing as Chelsea. Most of the time similar offers are turned down flat but this one time the refusal was overruled as being too good to turn down by the board.

erm if you goto your boardroom, there should be 2 options bottom left (i think) You can request to increase your trainning facilities/ youth facilities/ more transfer budget and more salary budget. etc. You can also ask for feeder clubs. and other things which mean a better team, say Man Utd might give u their players on loan to get matches etc.

I play him in DMC, find he isn't consistant enough in DC.
I play him MC as I don't use a DMC, he is great in that position and due to his stats ("Shoot with power" and 18+ long shots) he fire some rockets at goal and gets quite a few in.
Really brilliant face pack if anyone is interested in it, although it's quite large, coming in around 330 MB but contains A LOT of faces that are the default FM 2008 style and not the other types that are around. Original thread for the downloads are here but it's not in English, think it's Italian. There is a link at the bottom of the page to download all of them together rather than singularly, or just scroll down to the bottom of this post for the download link.
To install them, put them in:

If the graphics/players folder(s) don't exist then just create them. The file is in a WinRAR format also so you'll need that to extract the pictures.

just out of interest, why do you guys all tell each other the wonder kids, to me that would ruin the game. I like having to scout people and have bought a few flops in my time but when you have a team that you put together that isn't all Van der Vart etc etc it's more fun
I just normally find out who some good cheap signings are, mostly cause I always play Sunderland and their transfer budgets are silly low. But also because I'm not great at this game, and if finding out some of the Wonderkids that can really strength my squad will make it easier, then so be it

Christ, that's a lot, but Akinfeev is in the top 3 goalies in the game.Bayen just paid 35mil for a GK called Igor Akinfeev in 2012!!!!
he's good, but my keeper i got on a bosman is not far off, he's called 'Pegolo' bargain of the game for me.
