Just loaded FM up and I forgot I need to confirm a £35m transfer for Micah Richards. Do it or not? I have Wes Brown, Justin Hoyte and Daniel Alves for RB. Barzagli/Pique/Vidic/Rio/Evans/Tuia for DC.

I think it would be worth it but I want the consensus of the other OcUK FM fans. :)

Hmm, I'm not sure that you need him looking at your current line up :p Any other big clubs after him? Chelsea? I'm usually a sucker for buying people just to stop others getting him instead :o

Same Doohickey. Just Newcastle and Real Madrid.

Meh, that's ok... I suppose! Actually I don't think I could justify spending £35m on him, I can't think of many players I would pay that much for.

In fact, what's the most you've ever payed for someone? I think in one game years ago I payed £30 something million for Ibrahimovic...

Wouldn't bother, although Richards is FAR better than Justin Hoyte for right back. He could come in handy, because Alves is more a wing back and richards is a brick-wall style right back. But not for £35,000,000 I wouldn't :P

Most I've paid for someone was £20,500,000 for Veloso... worth every penny, considering how good he is I'd even pay double that.

Er on this particular save game, £19.25m for Andrea Barzagli. On FM08 probably about £45m for Leo Messi.

I got Hoyte as I'm just messing around on this save game waiting for 8.0.2. :D And he was cheap.

In my game Man City play him at DM a lot, and he's actually pretty damn good there too, quite the versatile guy! Still, £35m is too much, you're right.

£25m absolute max. You could be a little cheaty and say £10 million with 50% sell on clause if you don't plan on selling him, sometimes what I do :)

This.

As for the most I have spent on players, this season I have brought in Fabregas for £70m and Silva for £68m. The prices in my game are daft. I've just enquired about Torres, and Liverpool wouldn't go lower than £129m, upfront. This is in the closed season though; the prices seem to drop by quite a bit around Christmas.

Still, I've yet to lose in the league (85 games so far) so I'm not really looking to buy much atm :)

The most i've spent on a player is £1.5m, totally spending in the transfer window was £2.1m even though i bought in 9 new players, 8 of which the club and fans have claimed to be "inspired signings". :D

Just installed the game and I'm playing as Stoke, like always, its the middle of November and we're 10 points clear at the top of the CCC. :D

May start a new game off with Aston Villa.

Anyone got any decent formations/tactics for them?

Whats the lowest spec machine you guys have this running on?

Just wondering whether its worth attempting it on the Eee.

Whoa, I'm about to pick Silva up (stunning, by the looks of him) for £22.5m :D

I think the stupidly high values come from the manager of the team, whereas the board are likely to accept a lot lower for a player. I bet if you offered £40 million instead of £129 million for Torres the board would auto-accept it and the manager and his crazy £129 million asking price would have no say.
