It only has 1 thing over the SGS2 and a number of disadvantages... just mental.

The screen is a pretty crucial advantage (+ getting ICS and future updates early). The disadvantages of note is the SD card and GPU.

So depends how you weight it.

Better looks, real stock Android ICS and reliable updates and a larger, far superior screen make it worth it. NFC is a bonus that may be useful but certainly isn't essential at the moment, but I'd rather have it than not.

The screen is a pretty huge deal and the Galaxy S II screen isn't that great IMO.

I don't get the "regular Android updates" argument.

As per every Nexus phone, they're the first to get updates but they're usually just small updates that don't do very much. I.e, the Nexus S launched with Gingerbread and is still running Gingerbread.

When it comes to the next version of Android, the Galaxy Nexus won't be the first to get it most likely as if history is to go by, it will be launched with a new handset.

The Nexus One took quite a while to get Gingerbread as well, so it's not like the previous Nexus gets it that fast. So When Jelly Bean (or what ever they're going to call it) launches, the Galaxy Nexus may suffer the same fate.

So in my opinion, whilst Android 4.0 looks great and is probably one of the best features of this phone, I don't think having ICS for about 3 months before anyone else is that big a selling point. The other two main features aren't that great either.

  1. NFC - Pointless in the UK pretty much
  2. Screen - whilst lovely, pushing that resolution on such a GPU isn't going to do wonders for this phones gaming performance

Think I'm pretty much sticking with my Galaxy SII as once that has Android 4.0, it will pretty much be better than the Galaxy Nexus apart from the screen and it's not like the screen on the Galaxy SII is poor.

I don't mind TouchWiz either, hopefully the CM team manage to understand more about the GSII before the ICS source drops and that leads to better AOSP ROMs for the GSII.

I agree Kreeeee, they're both similar plastic Samsung phones.

Save your £200 for that monster Q1/Q2 release.

I plan to get the nexus and just wait till something better comes out, unlike most android phones the nexus ones tend to hold the value better so I will just sell it and get the best thing out which I guess might be the s3.
