Dont be crazy - posts like "I still havnt made my mind up yet wether to buy this or not" or "I ordered it a few days ago when do you think I'll get it?" is absolute golden stuff - I mean how can you not be interested in hearing this kind of magic?

Oh dear.. this also happened to the XDA forum. The whole forum was becoming overloaded 7k+ posts of utter uninformative...stream of consciousness about delivery ... ****e.

I call BS on those that claim to have taken delivery. Nobody on this forum has actually got one. ...if they had then they would know whether the sound quality was sweet... or stinky.

Well there is a surprise, Google really need to take a leaf out of Apples book for product launches, this one has been an unmitigated disaster for customer satisfaction.

When the iPad 1 was launched my local Purple shop had SEVEN in stock and diddn't know when they'd get any more.

BUT at least Apple handled pre-orders much better

Absolute madness. I've had mine for coming up to a week now thanks to that one retailer breaking the release date, whereas my original pre-order is nowhere to be seem. What a mess.

Same here, I'm not expecting mine tomorrow, normally it's been standard parcel delivery for the DSG group and that's 3+ days delivery (also stated in the pre-order)..

My email states shipping by Royal Mail Tracked... According to the Royal Mail website, this is a 48 hour service.

The fairly depressing behaviour in this thread has limited my willingness to post about mine, which was delivered Friday. Frankly I'm amazed that folk have got so stressed over something so totally, totally trivial. I guess they are fortunate to have less complicated lives than me, and fewer sources of stress. I wasn't expecting mine until next Friday and as long as I get tracking info when an item's on the way, I'm happy.

Anyway, FWIW I'm very happy with my N7 and contemplating selling my iPad3. They're not directly comparable devices, but the smaller form factor suits my needs well, and it's a lot more portable and less obtrusive in public... for instance when stuck at Euston for over two hours on Monday while they scraped some poor sod off the line up near Hemel.

The onboard speaker is worse than the iPad but much better than my CULV laptop. I haven't tried headphones because my phone's my mobile podcast system, and it's 20+ years since I listened to much music, so I don't need hi-fi quality kit any more.

I hope the mood here improves over the next week. It certainly ought to, because this is a lovely bit of kit IMO. The reviews can be believed for once. However it is just another tech toy, it is not worth getting upset over... Not unless you're the poor person at Google trying to coordinate a release which has been significantly complicated by the actions of a few disobedient etailers. I doubt any of them will be getting much stock if/when the Nexus10 is announced.

I get the feeling google was going for a "surprise heres your new toy, you weren't expecting this to arrive so soon were you?" thing. But some one ruined it.

Yes pre-ordered should go out first and I can't fathom how they wouldn't do it that way.
