*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Anyone using Engadget app? It got really slow on mine tablet. Runs 10 times faster on galaxy nexus. Is that for everyone?

My replacement one has arrived, no squashy screen.

Also got my TNT returns bag with it, I assume just placing the retuning box is okay?
And does anyone know what all I have to fill out on the leaflet on the front?

After mine died suddenly the other day i managed to reflash and relock my Nexus. Now to decide if i should send it back.

I have done a bit of reading and found a guy on XDA who said if you put the Nexus to sleep and pull out your USB OTG cable whilst you had some media open it will kill it and require a soft reset.

Just as a future warning to you guys.

Must...squeeze...just...a bit more...

So on the TNT form it says its going to Asus, Emmen, 7825 GD, The Netherlands.

Yet the account number says some place in Birmingham!?

Guys, I purchased a usb otg from Ebay so I could use a wired ps3 controller with my nexus 7, it works fine with my galaxy s2 but nothing happens when I plug it into the nexus, do I need an app installed to use a wired ps3 controller along with the usb otg with the nexus?

You need to be rooted and have Stickmount installed, to utilise OTG with the N7.

Can someone link me or give me item codes to a Noosy and an OTG cable? :(

e: found a noosy, whats the max size of SD card it can hold?

Is it just me or does it take ages to transfer files to the Nexus?

I have got around 5gb music and its taking over 30mins. I am just using the old copy and paste through Windows.

Is there an alternative that will be quicker?

Well, just picked mine up from the warehouse full of phones for cars. I really don't need it but I just couldn't resist it. Made the guy open it up in the shop to check for spongy screen/lift and dead pixels.

All looks good, hopefully the screen won't lift over time.

Interesting to see how it fills the gap between my Galaxy Note and my TF300.

Just a quick question, I'm assuming if I hooked this up to my S3 I could wifi/3G/4G tether? Using the phone's 3G capabilities?

Is everyone happy with theirs?

yeah you can tether to the S3.

Very happy with mine, only problem I have is the official flickr app not being supported. Might have to give Marissa a kick to get it sorted !
Anyone using a flickr app ? does flickfolio work well ? don't care about upload, more interested in the viewing functionality.

No you don't need to be routed to use the wired ps3 controller, you need root for USB storage as already mentioned plus if you want to use the ps3 controller wirelessly.

Have read over on xda that some otg cables work while others don't, reason for cables not working can be due to excess plastic moulding in the micro USB bit on the cable and can be fixed by getting rid of the excess.

To save the hassle I bought the official Samsung one from the 'rainforest' as mentioned on here last week, cost little under £9. Mouse and wired ps3 controller have worked in my test, yet to try a keyboard and to not rooted the n7 yet to try the USB storage.

I think its been covered elsewhere that Asus use cheap (slow) storage memory. I didn't find it too bad too be honest though, it certainly felt quicker than the speed you've experienced.
