**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

I really like the new XL, much more than the iPhone 8+. The problem is that I'm balls deep into the Apple ecosystem and my family are all on iOS devices for photo, location and media sharing. Plus I use the wallet app all the time.

I hope that the iPhone next year has an OLED screen as I'm not keen on the 'X' due to all the gen 1 tech in there; I'm sure FaceGate is going to be a thing.

Regarding DXO, they lost a lot of credibility iirc rating the OP5's camera as high as they did when in fact it is no where near as good.

You can a 32GB for £399 at CPW
Too low tbh mate, storage wise that is. Hopefully the 128gb will drop in price nicely.

How long did it take the first pixel to drop in price? It did it hold until now..
I don't think it dropped at all on the Google Play Store. I know CPW ran some offers on it, and have reduced it significantly now; in fact, they'll probably have the Pixel 2 a little cheaper than Google too.

I currently have a iPhone 6+ and the Pixel 2 XL looks such a breath of fresh air and I am so tempted to get it in white.

But I'm quite invested in the Apple eco system, whats it like going to the Google play store from the Apple store? Have things improved?

I seem to be the only one who is disappointed with the lack of dual lens on these. I don’t care what they claim to be able to do in software, they won’t be able to do lossless zoom and for this price tag and at this point of the year that’s disappointing. The headphone jack is slightly annoying but not a deal breaker for me (iPhone seems to do ok still despite it, some even say the outboard dac chip has some advantages in fact), but that camera is the only reason keeping me from buying it. I want a new toy but will probably end up keeping my S7 edge and waiting for the xl3 or, if I really, desperately want a change, just swap it for an original xl.

Yeah sticking it in your headphones is the way forward.

I do it with my iPhone.

Not lost the adapter yet but I do have wear and tear.

Yep, another year with the Nexus 6.... Sigh.

They have got the bezel ratio right this year though, finally with some stereo speakers, but my N6 has that, and wireless charging and a HP jack and doesn't cost £800.
