The Official GRAW Thread

Apologies for bumping an auld thread, but I eventually found a trainer for this at last!!! Hope it helps some folk.

Haven't tested it yet, but it would appear to work fine from what I've read.

In-game Hotkeys:

NUMPAD 1: Infinite Health
NUMPAD 2: Infinite Ammo
NUMPAD 3: Super Speed
NUMPAD 4: Health Boost Ammo
NUMPAD 0: In-game Menu

Infinite Health: After activating the option you need to open either the
menu (ESC) or the map (TAB) then return to the game to
update the pointers. If you ever lose any health for
some reason you can switch to the menu or the map and
back in again to update new pointers and restore your
health.

Infinite Ammo: If you see your weapon's ammo decreasing, re-select the
weapon (select another one and select the old one again)
to update the pointers.

Health Boost Ammo: With this option activated each time you fire a bullet
at your ally their health will be set to a very high
value, probably enough for them to survive heavy
damage throughout the mission. This can also be used
to heal your allies when they're dying.
*IMPORTANT*: Although I have installed extra checks to
make sure the enemies are not affected, for some odd
reason some enemies have identical struct to your
allies, so it's best to only enable this option,
boost your allies' health and then disable it.

* You might need to re-enable the options after Loading/New Level/etc.

* All options can be toggled on/off by the same hotkey (hint: listen to
the beep sound).

* For the ingame menu to work you have to run the trainer BEFORE the game
and keep it running while the game is still running.

*EDIT* Additional info:-

1.) Place the actual trainer into C: Program Files-Ubisoft-Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

2.) Right-click the trainer, select "Send To", and from there select "Desktop (create shortcut)".

3.) Run the shortcut to the trainer which should now on the desktop. Leave it open playing music because it will minimize and go silent once the game has started.

4.) Start the game and load your latest mission/new campaign.

5.) Once you are in control of your Scott Mitchell, that's when you should activate the hotkeys.

6.) The hotkeys will work from the number pad only. Listen for a beeping sound after you press the hotkey (may take a second or two for the beep sound to come through).

7.) After hearing the beep, press either ESC or TAB to get to the pause menu or tactical map, and then go right back into the action. Whatever hotkeys you've selected should now be enabled

I'm on about the 3rd mission now, and I'm really not enjoying this game at all.

My squadmate's AI has played a large part in this. Sometimes they just randomly don't respond to orders. Sometimes I ask them to follow me, and they do, about 30 yards behind, which means as soon as I turn a corner and get attacked they are usually standing stationary behind me further down the road, doing nothing as I get shot up. Then as soon as I start shooting at someone, one of my squadmates will run up and stand directly in my LOS.

I order a squadmate in cover to attack a soldier. 'Negative' he replies. Obviously its too much to ask for him to use his initiative and take two steps sideways so he can see the target. No I have to move him there first, then give him the 'attack' command. Then watch him as he stands upright amidst a hail of enemy fire, popping off shots.

The enemy AI is equally bad - soldiers will be stood stock still or pacing around, until they spot you from 300 yards away and either shoot you dead in less than a second, or start running randomly around like a headless chicken.

I really CBA to use the tactical map when it doesn't highlight enemies (like it does in first person view), its not much fun spending 10 minutes scrutinizing every little graphical detail on the map in case its an enemy soldier. And so far, considering a large portion of the game involves just running from A to B on the huge maps without encountering any resistance, using the tactical map to plan advances and strategies seems like waste of time. Reloading + pot luck got me much more effective results.

And, as mentioned earlier in this thread, what's with the sniper rifle only holding one bullet. Is it too much to ask to have a magazine? even with just 5 rounds in? Advanced warfighters my a***.

Bit of a rant but I've just spent a very frustrating 2 hours playing this game (I feel I have to play it as I paid good money for it...). I'm going back to SWAT4.

To be honest, I agree with you. It started off as fun but the novelty and excitement has worn off pretty rapidly. I play games to have a bit of fun - not to go mad with frustration because I have to do the same sequence over and over again. Hence the game has gone on the back burner for a while whilst I have a go at something else.

HAHA GOTTA LOVE SWAT 4!!!!

The game was delivered for me on Friday 12th May. I have completed the Quaterback mission and am now on what appears the last mission, to get back the president's suitcase. I have really enjoyed this game, you do have to play certain areas a few times, one thing I discovered on some levels is that you can walk around the trouble spots if you study the tactical map, on others you have to face enemies head on, but there is usually enough cover for you to engage the enemy.

If you can master using the tactical map, the ai deficencies can be abaited somewhat. In the later missions you'll really need to work the map, then the game becomes a pleasure.

Just got a demo (yeah I'm late) with PC gamer disc and everytime I start it up, I see a black screen and then I get thrown back to desktop and windows error message pops up? Anyone know what's the problem there?

It could be a few things, what's the error message & do your system specs meet minimum requirements::)

2 GHz Pentium® IV or the equivalent
1Gb RAM
5 GB of hard drive space
GeForce 6/7 series or ATI Radeon 9600-9800/X series

It's the standard windows thing that asks you whether to send the error report or not, doesn't really tell you much. I meet the specs with 2800+ Barton, 1.5GB of RAM, 9800 Pro, HD space and OS.

Bought and installed the game the other day - worked fine. Just installed the two patches- rebooted, and now when I either click on the desktop icon, or autoplay the DVD, the hourglass comes up for about 3 secs, then nothing - no error messages nothing at all. I've tried clicking the exe from the game directory, and can't figure out why the bloody thing won't load.

Life without being able to shoot some gringos is not much fun.

Please help!

Did you install the correct patches? ie the retail versions, not the 'download' versions.
There's a major update coming out in the next few days anyway so if you can't get it working I'd wait 'til that's out then reinstall with only that patch:)

Currently stuck on the third mission. I need to call in an airstrike but once the airstrike function is highlighted i cant do anything else from there *SOLVED by reinstalling*

Recently completed the two Vegas games and quite enjoyed them, so I'm considering getting this. Couple of questions:

1) Is it playable at 1680x1050 on a GTS320? I've heard a lot of horror stories about performance in this game, even from people with gf7-SLI setups. NB as I only have 320meg VRAM I'll have textures on medium.
2) How in depth is the tactical stuff? I don't have the patience for anything too serious, but stuff like they used in Vegas, Republic Commando, MOH:PA etc is good.

edit: Maybe Lockdown would be more suited to me?

Well following the release of Nvidia PhysX drivers I decided to give it a go. Not really seen any physics stuff to make me go "WOW!" yet - is there anything you need to do to enable physx?

Performance seems decent but I'm finding myself a bit out of my depth as far as the tactics go. The game just seems too slow a pace for my liking, I actually wondered if I was crouching rather than walking at first. Annoying when I start coming under fire and need to make a dash for cover.

Not really learnt how to utilise the tactical map yet, so far I've been using the basic orders which doesn't seem anywhere as near as effective as in the Vegas games.
