I've got to admit it is a little difficult :)
And a little annoying keep pressing tab and ordering your team mates
I will be buying it though. Oh, BTW how do you change weapon?

You can use the the middle mouse button to give orders on the fly, use the wheel to select the team member and then click the middle button, scroll to the command and say if its a Move command, place the pointer where u want him to move and then press the middle button again.

Read my above post :p

I've just done the intro mission thingy and found it most enjoyable. I love games like this - similar gameplay to Republic Commando and Freedom Fighters. The graphics are a bit pants due to no-AA but to be honest I'm so engrossed with the mission at hand that it just doesn't bug me.

btw if you have Crossfire, rename the exe file to AFR-FriendlyD3D

Before doing this with max details I was getting around 35fps, Now I'm getting around 80-90.

I know its a "cop-out" and I'm only at the second mission, but does anyone have any links to cheats or a trainer for this?.

I just cant advance across the plaza square without getting shot to bits. Doesn't matter where I set up my squad, I get wasted as soon as I peek round the last corners as I approach. :(

I found this bit quite hard too but got there after about 8 gos. It's too early to start cheating! Just crawl along the floor around corners, use your scopes, set your men up to cover you as you peep out - they're often better at seeing targets than you. You can use the overhead map to zoom in and just make out baddies lying in wait.

I'll give it another go and see how I get on. It's demoralising though, having to go back to the previous checkpoint all the time!!.

When you say zoom in on the map to spot enemies, for them to show up on the map itself, do you have to spot them by eye or scope first?.

If you use "the eye in the sky" map [TAB] you can zoom in so far and spot any wandering baddies. The stationary ones are difficult to see as they could just be mistaken for lamp posts.

Unfortunately you can't get a red marker on them unless you've seen them in the main first-person view. But you can send one of your guys near to that position and he can usually see the baddie and often shoot him straightaway.

Yeah and like the fact that the sniper rifle only holds one bullet so you have to keep manually reloading after every shot. Several times I've been caught without a bullet in the damn thing.

AAAARRRGGHHHH!!!!!

Still stuck at the VIP mission at the plaza.

I've tried loads of different tactics, still getting cut to shreds though.

So annoying to get stuck so early in the game. I'm not a "newbie" gamer by any manner of means either ( honest!! ), going by a lot of posts on the GR:AW forums and fansite message boards, it looks like many people are stuck at the same point, or just a little bit further on in the VIP missions. :(

Game runs soo badly on my system with the lowest resolution and details (800x600). Getting about 20-25fps average and the game stutters constantly even with the game installed on a seperate clean 7200rpm drive with a fresh install of windows and omega drivers.

AMD64 3000+
1GB RAM
x800XT
40GB IDE (clean)
Soundblaster Audigy 5.1

Such a let down :o :(

Strange.

Have you tried binning the AEGIA PhysX drivers completely, as suggested on previous pages?.

I have a kinda similar spec system to you m8, Athlon 3000XP, 6800GT and 1Gb of DDR400 and I can run it with no problems at 1024x768.

I also installed the 84.43 beta Forceware drivers ( not applicable to you obviously, running an ATI card ) and also in the video options, if you turn the filtering to trillinear it seems to help quite a bit.

Previous to that, the game was for me too, unplayable, but it runs fine now.

Disnae help me get passed that plaza square though......lol...!!! :p
