The Official Hearthstone : Heroes of Warcraft Thread

I was playing last night against a pally and he had no less than 6 cards and 15 health less I was playing my priest and was down to 2 cards but strangly enough he couldn't play any cards and just ended his turn we were at the 10 mana stage...

I wonder what 6 cards he had that he couldn't play any but having played pally I always find their cards are mostly depending on certain plays and you can end up having bad draws with them.

Priest can be a fun deck with the heals :D its morale destroying to the opponent who's planning a kill only to see your health go back from 5 to 15 in one turn :D

I've actually given up on this, I've had an inexplicable losing streak of well over a dozen games tonight, where I've had absolutely shocking card draws, and all my opponents seem to be getting incredibly strong early cards. I really don't understand it, my deck is pretty decent and I'm an ok player, it just seemed like my opponents had exactly the right card for everything I played. Fair enough, you get games like that sometimes, but not 12+ games on the trot.
I just got to the point where I realised I didn't need the stress, so uninstalled.
It's a bit sour grapes I know, but when you really stop enjoying something, you may as well knock it on the head.

I put it down just after Naxx after a few runs like that, you have to stop playing when you loose a few in a row and you start feeling the tilt. As soon as you do your not going to win any more games as you stop thinking rationally. We've all been there :D Play some silly decks or something new you made up in casual. Good fun :)

oh alarm o bot you promise so much. But you do nothing! you just die time after time!
Look at Malygos, sitting there waiting for you to work just once!
Burn in the fires of hell!!

I had a loosing streak last night I just switch decks and do some casual murloc runs thats always good fun.

Went from Rank 15 4 stars down to 17 :(

But I enjoyed playing them even though I lost.
Some games there was only a point in it and it was lucky draws for my opponent when I should have won. You know full board and he draws pyroblast when you have 10 health and he's on 1 he he.

Of course there are several games getting to 15 where i got that lucky draw as well...

I did find the tilt coming last night and had to switch to my silly decks (all taunts in the game :D ) that one is fun as well.

I tend to have this feeling when I am playing while very tired, and am making bad decisions without even realising it. Leaving it for a while and coming back to it when my mind is clear normally works for me.:)

Are there any guides/streams/YT people out there that changed your game for the better? I've been playing for 9 months and average about 3 wins in arena, rank 20 in ranked (basically at the level where I can't loose stars!) and probably 50 win rate in casual.

What do you think of these arena decks? The first two are Pally and the last one is Warlock. With wins of 3, 0 and 2 respectively. I understand it's a bit difficult to judge as you didn't see the draft options.

Will post some decks for ranked soon.

If I capture games, will people bother watching them to point out where I'm going wrong?

First deck is pretty solid, only problem i see with that is deathlord. I think it will lose u more games than it will help u win in arena so i would avoid it altogether. If i had that first deck i would expect any where from 5+ wins. The double truesilver champion could carry the deck nicely as well.

2nd deck i dont like humility, lepper gnome, redemption and undertaker. I would only pick Undertakes if i had at least 4 low lv minions with death rattle. It's very hard to get value out of undertaker in arena even on a turn 1 play.

Redemption is a bad card it will only work if your opponent is bad and doesn't play around it. Even by then u will need to trade something into it to kill the minion which means his minion just went for 2 for 1 against u.

Lepper gnome will just die to a turn 2 hero power, i never get value on him unless it's against a hero with a no dmg hero power. It's still not a terrible deck and had a good mid game. Anything over 3 wins is alright for that deck.

If i got 5 wins out of it i would be happy enough with it.

Not going to comment on the warlock deck as i play very little of it in arena, but u did go for the right idea with the void walker and demons.

The only way to get passed 6-7 wins in arena is to have a deck that can beat a control mage, that means having cards with 5 hp or more in the mid game to play. Cards like Stranglethorn Tiger, Boulderfist Ogre and Archmage can survive flamestrikes and trade next turn which is very important.

Build your deck for value try pick as many 2 for 1 cards as u can, Kodo is a 2 for 1 card as it can kill a minion with it's battlecry then trade for another card giving u tempo and card advantage. If u play for too much value though u might get over run in arena and might die before u can take the board back so u need a nice balance.

Right now u wont be getting 6-7 wins if u are only managing 3 wins per arena run. Focus on trading as efficiently as u can and always be aware of board clears. For example i know a priest might have holy nova on turn 5 so instead of leaving 2 minions with low hp on the board i will trade 1 minion directly into one of his minions leaving my other minions on 3+ health so he doesn't get too much value out of his holy nova.

Try not to play your strongest minions as soon as u can, u want to bait out some removal first on a weaker minion, instead of playing lets say a sunwalker out turn 6 against a mage instead play a yeti and bait a fireball or polymorph onto him. That will make it less likely he has something to deal with the 6 mana sunwalker.

When u make your arena decks use arena value and that way i will be able to see what u chose over other cards and help u out with picking your decks. U might be skipping good cards not knowing how well they work out in arena thinking they are bad when they might be very good.

There is a streamer called Kripparrian he is probably the best arena player around, u will learn a lot by watching him. He normally streams in the morning till the afternoon if u have a chance to watch him.

Do you watch any YouTube or twitch games?

Amaz
Trump
Forsen

Are a few good players to watch which you can learn from.

Trump I would say is the best for saying why certain cards are played.

Also forgot to post my pack opening this week, i done a 4-3 arena run and got a gold auchenai soulpriest and then got my first golden legendary in
the same pack, i got ragnaros which was a duplicate. The only golden legendary i have is ragnaros and it decides to give me that one?

It was bitter sweet for me if i'm being honest took me over 400 pack openings to finally get one though. Still the pack was an out of this world pack so i cant complain.

look at trumps iarena youtube vids see if you can stay at 100 I use mostly his decks but can now build decks myself and can choose same as him in his arena vids got about 75-80 each time. Although I don't always agree with his picks. (but that's the beauty of the game)

Thanks all, I just started watching Krip the other day but have only seen a few videos from Trump and none from the other two mentioned; so I shall watch some more!

Anyone going to drop some cash on GvG? Logging into the game during the launch event will give you a free arena run and three free Goblins vs Gnomes card packs so that's 4 packs plus what you can get with saved gold.

I'm considering 2 x 40 packs which will make 100+ packs. Should be enough for commons, rares and hopefully a couple of decent legs.

yeah i think im gunna get the 40 packs.

in actual fact 47 packs.

£45 itunes vouchers for £35 in tesco at the moment.

so 40 @ 34.99 and 7 @ 6.99

most of my hearthstone is played on the ipad. but its always crashing.

i literally just lost another game because the app crashed.

it crashed, by time i started it again and reconnected the timer was finishing meaning i missed a turn (the turn i had the easy win)

so frustrating when this happens. and it happens a lot. tis such a shame really. i mean, its not like its a demanding game to run.
