The Official Hearthstone : Heroes of Warcraft Thread

Been playing around with a modified control warrior deck, Its pretty bad to be honest and It definitely needs work but playing the Iron Juggernaut and knowing you have a guaranteed 10 damage coming up is nice. Even if the card gets killed instantly you have that damage coming up guaranteed, the card is so overpowered because of that. The armor smith/Frothing Berserker and Bouncing blade synergy is very nice as well

Due to the lower number of cards its not been great opening packs :( Seem to accuire less epics & ledgendarys :confused: I've been playing arena more as I have gold burning a hole :D not being very good at it means I'll be back in constructed soon.

Cards I want are for a mech deck, pirate deck then the warrior cards. This expansion the epics seem to be really good, and there are a few of them to get :(

Arena is always better than simply opening packs even if you lose 3 games in arena you still get a pack and it only costs 50 gold more and you rarely go 0-3 in arena so you'll probably get some gold and dust as well and you get to have fun with at least 3 arena games. You also get to play some great players and I've yet to see an arena bot.

Arena is worse than opening packs, unless you get 7 wins.

Usually its 30 gold or 30 dust and one pack that's if you are bad enough not to win any games! Also there is the fun of playing arena which I count as some gold suppose it depends on how you want to play the game though. :)

Once you get to 4 wins you are already guaranteed

4 Silver 3
  1. One Goblins vs Gnomes pack
  2. 40-60 gold
  3. One random reward

  • 20-30 gold
  • 20-25 dust
  • One common card
  • One rare card
that's more than your entry to arena

1 pack + ~30g = 130g

Play mode:
1 pack + 50g (arena saving) + 10g (3 game played) = 160g

Arena:
1 pack + 50g + 20g (I picked 20g because the dust/card rewards are less valueble but they occur more often statistically) = 170g

Play mode:
1 pack + 50g (arena saving) + 23.3g (20g for 6 games played , 3.3g for the 7th) = 173.3g

Furthermore, The Play Mode extra income increases with every game played after the 7th game, because you don't get the usual 10g per 3 games bonus. Play Mode also contributes to quests.

As I said, arena income is higher only when you regularly win 7 games although I agree arenas are more fun to play.
 
Not really. If you are going 0-3 every run because you don't know what you are doing then you are going to be losing 50g each time. You can get 3 packs for 300g, or 2 from arena for 300g if you go 0-3 losing every time. I much prefer spending my gold on packs.

And sure, there are no guarantee you are going to win games on ladder, but you don't lose anything either.
