The Official Hearthstone : Heroes of Warcraft Thread

Which modes do you guys play? Is it mainly arena? I notice in arena you can pick and choose what cards you get. How do I know which ones will be the best ones to pick?

Watch all these video's, he gives good decks for each class. And play the game for a while then make a decision. Naxx for me is more than worth it as there are loads of single player quests to do which reward you with great cards. The naxx quests wont help you learn the game thou.

Dont know about u guys but i'm loving GvG so far. Definitely has spiced up the game and made games much more interesting.

The only deck i hate is that dreaded face skill hunter, really does my head in losing to those guys.

This is the deck i'm running, got it off of Hearthpwn and i'm loving the deck so far. Only problem is control warr seems to roflstomp me.

Thing is as much as people hate the agro hunter and zoo, those decks keep the meta honest and interesting. Otherwise it would be big control match ups all the time with a very expensive dust requirement to be competitive.

As it is the agro decks are fairly cheap

I agree in general but coming across that same deathrattle ebola hunter deck 24/7 between rank 5-12 or so, with the exact same 30 cards does get tedious!

Really enjoying gvg so far, though.

The real winners so far seem to be :

Warlock with new viable demon deck cards, and a large boost to giant decks too. The mech zoo stuff is good too.

Mage mech deck seems pretty strong and feels like a murloc deck on steroids a bit. The mechs finally make mage viable again imo, without having to resort to the ice/frosty/secret/duplicate variant of mage! Which was quite horrible!

Paladin...! That weapon that gives you 3 1/1's followed by the boost of 1/1's to 3/3's has justmade them a fair bit stronger now!

Warrior - The cards like shieldmaiden i suspect will be certainly 2 in every single deck, perhaps even losing a shield block to make room.

warrior is a bit too strong now imho

I must admit I am a little skeptical that "control hunter" will ever become a genuinely viable option, especially with the buzzard nerf..as they would have needed that for the card draw tbh.

Its a shame because some of their new cards look really cool.

I had 2 shieldmaidens in my deck but I swapped one out to put Iron Juggernaut in.

It seems like control warrior games are always long, so you get value out of the mine almost every time. It reminds me of Ragnaros, in that you get them to 8 HP and pass turn, hope for the best, only 10 hp with the mine instead. Got a few kills that way.

Yea :) ive got iron jugg too ! Overall its good but against some classes like warlock giant, its often a death sentence! :D

I think ill always run 2 shieldmaidens now tbh, since its a great turn 6 recovery card after the initial hunter ebola decks early damage...even better if you have 1 for turn 6 and on turn 7 a second one, plus a shield slam on something :) its normally practically game over by this point!

Tempted to get £100 worth of iTunes vouchers....

Thing is Ive only purchased 40 packs on vanilla Hearthstone, should I spend all £100 on GNG or mixture...

Definitely mix, I opened around 100 gvg packs in total so far and kep seeing lots of duplicates so I switched back to the vanilla set as I'm missing a few legendaties from it still.

I literally suck at arena. I always go 0-3. Sometimes 1-3. I'm still a new and only rank 18 on constructed. Am I better off just buying packs instead of entering arena?

Thanks qotsa. How do I use this sheet exactly?

You need to fill in both the tables, 'Missing Cards (Classic)' and 'Missing Cards (GvG)'.

Say you want to find out how many paladin classic rare cards you're missing, you go to your collection, type in 'classic rare' in search and go to the paladin tab. Make sure you're in crafting mode and you can easily see which cards your missing.

Once you've filled in the tables, it will tell you which pack is best to buy and your total missing from each area.
