Probably best to use some kind of tier list for the arena if you're new or you'll end up with some grim decks. Keep mana curve in mind also.

Watch youtube/twitch arena players. There is a bit of a knack to it.

No I don't suggest that. I'd still buy bulk as it offers the best value, but unless you've got a very similar number of cards missing from both classic and gvg there should be an obvious choice.
 
Ok thanks, so really the excel sheet is more about just fine tuning your collection and buying the odd pack rather than en masse.

Is there some kind of program which can catalogue your collection to see what else you need to craft etc?

Just go to the craft section. Greyed out ones you haven't got.
 
The excel sheets tells you which packs have a higher chance of giving you new cards, it's as simple as that. It's relevant whether you're buying 1 pack or 100.

My advice is buy 60 packs of the type the spreadsheet suggests. Once you've opened them all, update the spreadsheet and then rinse repeat as you want to buy more packs.
 
Pushing for legend atm, got to my highest right now at rank 2. Didn't even mean to get in this position as i was only laddering a lot to get my golden hunter and before i knew it i was rank 4.

Dont think i will reach Legend i have till 2moro i think but i will try all of tonight and 2moro.
 
5-1 in my arena run. Lets see where this ends. :D

Update: Finished 7-3! Damn, was hoping for a double digit run but can't win them all. Free entry to the next is the main thing.

Update 2: Well ****, I really can't moan. :D

Thanks guys, dont think i'll ever be doing another legend run. Took me a lot of games and in the last 3-4 days i have played so much.

I didn't even intend on trying for legend i was just doing a few games a day for golden hunter and before i knew it i was rank 4.

Kind of got 2 birds with 1 stone, i got legend and i'm also very close to gold hunter so that was the little bit of motivation i needed to play the games.
 
Gz on the Legendary. I never get higher than rank 17... Mostly because I get bored and start making silly decks and trying to ladder with them. I also stop paying too much attention and make silly moves a lot.
