It's a F2P game with micro transactions of course there's going to be some people dropping money into it. I've watched a hideous amount of this game so far and my P2W fears have pretty much been put to rest. Pay to save time maybe but purchases are random and I've seen people earn more decent packs/cards in a few hours than they were randomly given for a $20 drop.

There will always be lazy people with more money than sense but that doesn't make a game P2W.

if you are lucky then it is p2w, as you could drop $20 and get the exact cards you need for a near unbeatable deck, but from what I've seen since last posting then I agree on the whole most of the cards they were getting are not worth anything at all so as long as it's like that in the live game then it's all good! bar the few lucky ones who get legendary one after another lol.
 
You get gold for doing daily games I thought.

Christ I really want in to this, I wonder if it is super successful will they launch a physical one based on these rules as they've discontinued the old one

For that particular deck/entry yeah, you can pay again and build another deck and re-enter the arena to try again.
Personally, this sort of business model doesnt work for me. Im just hoping theres either a really easy way to make gold or the other mode is good which lets you play vs too.
 
But how do you do games if your gold-less and not willing to spend real money :p

Or is the arena PVP and there is a NPC opponent thing?

^^^ Yeah I'm not gonna bother if you get slaughtered by people and have to pay to continue enjoying the basic game, geeez. although I've only seen arena stuff so not sure what the other options are?

Sorry winning 9 is the end goal. You still get bits for lesser wins. For example on a stream last night Kripp got 5 wins and 3 losses. This earned him a pack, 3 bags of gold totaling about 120 gold and some blue juice stuff (used for crafting).

AFAIK getting 5 or 6 wins before 3 losses usually makes it worth it.

Im pretty sure theres just a basic vs mode that people were playing before hitting the arena, they were even challenging people from their friendslist too.
No idea what the rewards are though, if any :(

But it's 150 gold to get back in? So that 120 gold sounds LOW to me, especially if you loose a lot.

Guess I need to wait and see more details, it's hard to tell from just the things I've seen (arena fights one after another and another....)

So *if* there are no rewards for the other modes, your stuck playing the same cards over and over and over until you pay or give up?

Sounds dodgy, Hope I'm wrong though.

But he got a pack of cards which costs $1 -$1.50 depending on how you bulk buy, most of the gold back and crafting juice which is essential to building a great deck. This is a result.

I've not seen this crafting thing so I've no clue as to that :p
 
yeah, deffo looks like fun was just slightly worried as to the way all that real cash stuff worked, as long as you can play and advance free of charge then it's all gravy. :p

of course buying packs and whatever else will make you level up/advance quicker but no need for it (as far as i can tell now)

$100? that's nothing, think towelliee put over $500 in one streaming session a week ago! but that was because the viewers wanted him to. he said he will only buy boosters if people donate for that reason.... and boy did they!!! xD spent ages just opening pack after pack after pack xD

can't wait! bring on EU BETAAA!!!!!

probably hear more about it at the up coming PAX?

and for Aeleys, any duplicate cards you own can be "disenchanted" into dust, this dust can then be used to craft cards that you don't own. So you can buy a ton of boosters, then disenchant all the spares and craft something you really want ;)
