***The Official Home Recording Studio Thread***

Not so much a home setup! but certainly not a large studio!

couple pics of my room after it was built (from acoustician John Brandts design)

Combined with the Rocks, the treatment as made a massive improvemtn for my work over the last year!

In total got 4 rooms,
1 live room, and 3 control rooms / production rooms, that can double up as a live tracking space also

this one is the first thats been treated to thi level

More big ribbon recordings, this time a PRS through a Mesa Lonestar special. Still not the best one (think that's coming in next week's episode) but give you an idea of mid/side recording on an amp. :) Again, other than very slight compression that's a raw recording, no processing at all.

worked a lot with this singer over the years.
got himself on he x factor this year. Not typically into watching it, but when a friend/client is on i have some interest!
Shame he got knocked out at the judges houses at the weekend.

I tried to find this thread when I had some pics to share but couldn't find it.

I went into a studio and recorded live drums for the first time. The house engineer basically set up the mics for me.

It turned out okay I think. Stupidly I didn't take any pics of the setup though! Haha.

Linky if anyone is interested:

The drums were recorded into an apollo 8p (not sure what mics were used)
My Apollo Twin was used for everything else.
Rhythm guitar - Blackstar HT1 mini amp, miced with an SM57.
Lead was an engl UAD plug in.
Accoustic - AKG Solid Tube mic
Vocals were recorded through an SM7b
