***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

Bit of a stupid question.

How do I safely eject the touchpad?
I right click on the usb icon on windows, hit eject, it then tells me it's safe to remove but when I take out the USB cable, the touchpad goes "owwww, *what ever the rest of the message is"

Am I doing something wrong?

I've been told to right click eject, then right click safely remove hardware, but after ejecting the usb icon disappears.

Is advanced browser worth it over the stock browser?

For the couple of quid it costs, yes.

I've found browsing speed to improve, tabbed browsing is nice and the home button with your bookmarks is nice. It also remembers login info but has an annoying 'login available' pop up which I've got used to.

From what I understand some of the limiting factors to improvement is down to lack of info from HP rather than the developer. I certainly prefer it to stock.

Will it come with the market, or will everything need to be sideloaded?

Can you elaborate on this? Is there a way of loading market apps, via PC on devices that do not have official Google Market?

I am desperately hoping the Android port will let me somehow use my paid phone apps on the Touchpad. At the moment I never use the touchpad :( Decent apps are few and far between, those that are good are paid and I don't wish to invest money in a dead ecosystem.

Yes, if you have the .apk file, then you put it onto the device and install it, no market needed.

You can get the apk from your phone, and/or 'other' sources if you're so inclined.

This is all pointless though, although CM7 doesn't come with gapps (due to the google cease and desist letter he received a while back) someone will put them together into a flashable zip, so the Touchpad will have the Market once CM7 is out.

And google can/will not normally nerf access to market/accounts on unauthorised devices etc?

There are several devices that never officially had the Android Market but have had versions commonly released with no problems, so I really doubt that even if Google could realistically stop it that they would...

It's a non issue imo, Once CM7 (and/or other roms) are available there will be a market, no idea why anyone could think otherwise...

Is anyone else having trouble with the stock calendar and Google sync?
It won't sync some of my calendars from Google and there are events missing from the calendars that do sync. Very annoying.

Although I am really liking WebOS, Android will be very welcome!
