*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

It's in good nick, tiny un noticeable scratches on the screen, getting £160 for it, amoled version also.

Hmm, not too bad that.
Mines in perfect condition, unlocked, black version too. Hopefully i'll get a good £150+ for it if i sell. :)

I would imagine so yeah, mine also unlocked but the "brown" version. Decided to give it do my dad though in exchange for 6 week rent free :P

lol, might see if i can persuade my land lord...:p

Im undecided what to do though, i want a new toy, but none of the current superphones interest me. The Galaxy2 has the same res screen and a case/buttons i dont like, the Sensation is too big i think (need to try) but will have a locked bootloader.
So not a clue what to go for. :(

Right im on Leedroid 2.3d atm and im thinking of maybe giving the cynogen 7 a go as ive never had a play with a none sense rom before.

Do i just backup my apps with Titanium backup and the current ROM. Then flash CM7 using Rom manager? Does it detect the Apps to sd + partition automatically or will i have to recreate that?

If anyone can answer those questions it would be ace :)

Yeh exactly. My main reason is the sides on mine are pretty scrappy and I lost the headphones it came with and all they ask for is the charger/phone itself.

If you use Titanium to backup everything, then use the recovery to wipe everything, then re-ROM, then use Titanium to restore, everything, i think, should be fine. :)

I told it to backup user apps + system data, didnt want to backup everything encase it grabbed some of the leedriod stuff dunno if that would cause issues or not.

I had a few problems with apps force closing after using a titanium backup restore when moving between roms. Nowadays I just re-sync with appbrain and install everything again.

Well seems to all have gone fine, just need to install gapps then sort out the A2SD+ then restore all my backups :)

Ok after restoring stuff from titanium backup and then powering off, then turning on it seems to be stuck on the cynogen 7 loading screen and not doing anything else.

Anyone know how to solve this?

*edit sorted managed to boot into recovery and wipe data and cache :)

Exactly my plan ;)

I just looked on the 'Bay, and most of the phones seems to go for around 150 ish anyway! and that's excluding delivery and fee's!

Now to find a good sim free deal because I have a £7.50 per month rolling contract (300 Minutes, Unlimited Texts, Unlimited Data) ;)

Yup, and if you can be bothered with the hassle take out the O2 24month 13.50 a month contract £155 for the phone+cheap case, £100 back from Topcashback = £379

Then just give/sell a relative who hardly uses mobiles for dirt cheap. 50mins 250 texts 100mb internet.

(with the possibility of dropping the contract to £10.50, although there's been varying responses from O2 as to whether this will be possible.

Been looking at those for the past few days and not sure If I want the hassle or not :/

Looking to pay around £350 ideally, maybe stretching to near £400. Then that means I'll have a new phone for around £200. With my contract, that's win win imo!

I've attempted it, my bro wanted a dirt cheap contract anyway n said he didn't mind him taking it out as long as I gave him the lump sum of like £420 (I get the £100 back for cashback).

Works out as him paying like £3 a month and he very rarely uses his phone but uses more credit than that. Will even be free for him if he manages to cancel the data bolt on.

This is still the desire thread? :p

Currently running my phone on stock, looking to find a suitable first custom rom, would appreciate any recommendations. I don't believe I use any Sense features (Go Launcher, Dialer/Contacts etc and no interest in FriendStream/Stocks/Weather).

Looking for something that is stable, fast and going to give me more room for Apps.
Currently homing in on:

Leedroid (and just ignore Sense?)
CM7
Oxygen

Any help?

Lol. Us with launch day Desire's are probably upgrading hehe. Sorry? ;)

Anyway to your question:

I would personally either go with CM7 or Oxygen since they are proper ASOP ROMS, where as the Leedroid just removes Sense with a script I believe (not sure how well that works).

Once you choose either of the two, go to http://alpharev.nl/ and see which HBOOT partitioning you prefer. These allow more space on your phone for apps, so no messing with partitioning the SD card for "apps2sd".

I'm not sure how much you know much about Android rooting and terminology, but there are guides over at XDA that will make you fully understand.

Hope that helps a little!

Personally, I run the latest Oxygen with the Oxygen HBOOT and it's awesome. You'd get similar performance with either CM7 or Oxygen so just pick one based on feedback that you've read or something!
