***The Official HTC One Thread***

My Dad's finally come back from his long 3 month holiday (lulz - great to be retired). He's happy with my upgrade choice for him (iP4 currently) and really like's the One. It's hard not when HTC have covered all bases and topped it off with an awesome body shell.

On the way back he picked up a cool HTC One brochure in Dubai:

So are you just here to tell all the HTC One owners they should have bought a cheaper phone or something?

Erm no....

I also have a HO for your information bought it before you whilst you were dilly dallying whether to buy it from P4U or not that's why I'm here on this thread

Right my HTC one is faulty.

Occasionally wifi will just drop out, when i go to the settings menu it hangs when i click wifi.
Same with 3g/cell signal sometimes too.

Will EE swap it in store or will i have to send it away for weeks?..

I have the exact same issue only with wifi though, Its not a hardware fault its a software issue 4.1.2 with some routers is temperamental, I had a similar issues with my N4 on 4.1 it is intermittent hence very difficult to reproduce in a shop and convince them to give you a replacement.

Hey last night I saw a contract I could get with 300mins 5000 texts and unlimited data on 3 with the phone costing 100pounds for 26pound a month I'm quite tempted to go with this as I can sell my ip4 for 100 an it keeps my monthly cost the same as what I am atm.

Or can I do better? Can I get cash back if I go through carphonewarehouse?

Decent deal not as good as what CPW were doing last week (£29 500m, 5000tx, Untld Int = £696)

But this is a good deal as well total cost = £724 you can also get £35 Quidco.

Just got round to testing the audio quality on this phone and WOW  It absolutely blew me away. I really like the fact HTC have put so much thought and effort into this phone, the charger and headphones match the colour of the phone as well which is a nice little touch. I also got to test out Google Nav on the short trip back from work and it picked up the GPS signal pretty quick and worked fine.

I'm liking this phone more and more each day.

Have to say that I am also impressed with the audio on my HO. Haven't actually tried the bundled 'phones, prefer using my good-but-aging Shure e3c set.....but the sound, especially through PowerAmp, is really good - in fact, for the first time in a while, I can leave my Cowon J3 at home for everyday use - not saying it can truly compete, but the difference is far less than with previous handsets :)
Also agree with the GPS thing - perhaps it is the GLOSNASS(?) compatibility which further enhances the experience - Xperia Play I had for a while some time back also had this support, and I found that excellent for GPS duties....

@kona The joys of being retired eh? 3 months holiday in Dubai now that's a godsend :)

Major brownie points for you in getting your Dad a HTC One, am glad he's pleased :)

Did he pick up the brochure before or after he knew he was getting a HTC One?

Bonus points for getting him to move from the IP4 to Android! ;)

BTW that wallpaper looks lush on the HO, not as vibrant as it looked on your S3 LTE though but still very very nice

Just received my One this morning and I can see that there is a tiny gap around the top left edge of the phone (where the power/lock button is). There is some movement, I can squeeze it together so it is flush. The rest seems Ok. Are people really swapping them over for this? Is it because dust may get it?

Can't help with the gap issue but glad to read that you received yours. I had read somewhere about Dial-a-Phone cancelling people's orders and following up with a phone call so that the cashback is avoided. I don't know how true that is regarding their motives, but they cancelled my girlfriend's HTC One yesterday and followed up with a call to get her on another plan (which she declined). Mine's due for delivery tomorrow so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Isn't it a bee? :p:rolleyes::o

Definitely a queen wasp, I should know, my dad kills them for a living. :p

On a serious note.....

T-mobile and 3 have the same deal (same mins, texts and data and contract length) but 3 is £99 for phone where as T-mobile is £49.
Any reason to pay the extra for 3?

Currently on Vodafone and not too chuffed with the 3g signal and speeds I'm getting in NW London. Was previously with Orange and they were better regarding data speeds so don't think it's my trusty HTC Desire.

On the above, I would've thought that 3 might be the better option with 4G seemingly being a free 'upgrade' when it arrives ??
