***The Official HTC One Thread***

The One's battery life really is amazing, I normally used to struggle with a journey from my house to the west of London then back again with a lot of use. I had one of the longest days ever yesterday, train at 6:30 with TuneIn until I got to the tube, then Beyondpod on the tube, emails/texts/web on and off all day then the same Beyondpod and TuneIn on the way home. I was still around 20% battery when normally I'd have had to turn other phones off for less use than that or carry around a spare battery.

With normal use I'm easily getting a couple of days out of it.

interesting

what cpu does it have? the 8 core one where 4 of them are running in low mode? or is that cpu only for the S4?

impressive. will wait for people to confirm the battery life before i put down £500+ for one of these devices.

really fed up of my One X. poor **** battery life.

How do you think I feel with my stupid Galaxy Nexus? I turn the screen on and instantly lose 10% battery life :o:p

I'm definitely going for the One though, I can live with the camera not being perfect. Anyone know when EE are getting them? I've rang them and they can't give me a solid delivery date.

I've come from a Galaxy Nexus, and it feels like a big upgrade if I'm honest. The only downside is that the screen on my Nexus 7 looks poor in comparison!

I'm in the market for a new phone (for the last 6 months). The Omnia 7 has done me proud but I want something different. The 920 is nice but a little too bulky and only the One has grabbed my attention other than that.

I was pleasantly surprised today when I looked at it in the flesh, it's only a tiny bit longer than the Omnia and just as thin! Android seems to have gone on leaps and bounds compared to last year too, although having tried the Xperia Z maybe it's just HTC that have sorted it, that lagged a lot, along with S2's and 3's I've tried of friends.

I think I'm going to go for the Black one, although not sure how good the covering is? The One S had issues with peeling and other metal phones I've had have had problems, except the Omnia which only shows tiny "holes" where I dropped it onto concrete.

Is the buymobilephones deal the best at the moment? Free on an 18 month contract for £31 a month (with a reasonable amount of data)?

I can imagine - the Nexus was awesome when I got it (well awesome except the crappy battery life) but now it feels sluggish :( I'm hoping to a One next week at some point so I can finally have a phone that will last a full day without going flat :p

Nope, 18 months. :p

Or at least when I looked at the weekend...

EDIT: Ok, seems to have gone... maybe it was 24 months or an error! :(

That's expensive! The 18 month basically unlimited is £650 before any quidco etc.

Dialaphone have the same 18 month £36 a month deal with £80 cashback.

50 topcashback, so 684(for 52/month) - 50 = 634 and you can pick a new phone after 12 months which is great :)

s4 is on the same contract too.. but with higher one-of-pay(69)

I called a three sore yesterday that's open til 10PM and they didn't have a clue when they were getting it, or that they were even expecting it :S ? so I told them they were getting it and should be expecting it tomorrow (today) and that I'd call back.

Called them today and they have 'loads' in stock now, so I've put my name down for one and I'm picking it up tonight. Only problem is I've almost knowingly left my ID at home. I saw it this morning and stared at it then left it on the side so I've got to drive 15 miles home then 15 miles back (shop is very near work) to get it!

will report back later.

Rick
