*** The official HTC One X thread ***

That is exactly what I'm looking at doing, same money and end month too :p Where abouts is the cashback though? Saw it mentioned on Hot UK Deals but nothing on Quidco about it or similar.

I take it your happy with the switch?

Russinating: Think the above was drowned under keyboard screenshots :D Any info on the cashback?

So i got an annoying problem now with this phone. I use poweramp for my mp3s which works well but if im playing a game ie temple run or the pinball hd game..it seems like my volume goes a bit crazy ie every so often it jumps very high then goes very low.

Ive stopped poweramp and then re-ran it to see if that solved the issue..nope. Shut down the games, temple run and pinball hd to see if that alleviated the problem but no it hasnt. Even tried running the games before i start poweramp but still happens :(

Been happening for the past couple of days and its getting pretty damn annoying. I dont know if its the apps playing havoc or whether its poweramp causing the issue but suffice to say im not impressed with this.

Has anyone else had this issue or is it just me??. Ive taken to re-starting my phone now when it happens but it still does it after opening up the games that i play. Ive even turned off the in game sounds but to no avail.

as it currently stands the issue mostly affected the earlier models on initial release i.e HT23 & HT24 batches you can find you bath number on the paper surround which is around the box the phone came in.

HT25 & HT26 users havent been shown to being affected yet but time will tell.

Mines the same with poweramp if i do anything else at the same time that has sound the volume goes crazy and also all the sound distorts massively. I'm probably just going to go back to using the stock music player

just to put a smile on your face, someone you know put their HOX on the car roof whilst strapping in the lil un and subsequently drove off. no more than the bottom of the street\200m later n it clicks. get out n its missing. it was in a leather pouch but it looks like someone picked it up as if it it were damaged then it would still be left on the floor. someone will be thinking its pay day come early but once I get insurance sorted and get the imei blocked... sad thing is I can't use putting it on the roof as an excuse as it's not covered using that....

say it must have accidently dropped out your bag while filling the car with shopping/grocceries and when you finally noticed it was too late you were back home :) ...it was an accident...phone the police get a ref number for the case being opened report the number to the insurance and get a new phone...easy

lol

I've had my One X for a few days now, and I have a couple of questions. Mainly, I want to know if anyone has found a fix for a couple of oddities.

Firstly, there is this WiFi issue which some seem to suffer from. I have noticed at work that maybe once or twice a day, the WiFi will be connected, but there is no connectivity. When I check, the phone doesn't have an IP. Either turning WiFi off and back on, or manually assigning an IP seems to fix it, but it obviously isn't ideal. Some sort of issue with retrieving an IP over DHCP?

The other is something that happens overnight. I've noticed, and there are threads on XDA with the same issue, that the phone will go into some sort of deep sleep mode. Both WiFi and cellular data are turned off whenever the screen is off, presumably to save power whilst everyone is asleep. The problem is, not everyone is asleep through the night, and push notifications obviously do not arrive because there is no data connection.

Waking the screen up makes both cellular data and WiFi kick in, but again, it's all a bit odd.

Finally, I have some strange graphical glitch that only happens when the keyboard is being drawn as it appears on-screen, and it only seems to happen in Twitter bar once in the Sense Twitter widget. The box above the keyboard shows a glitch and then redraws properly. Sounds like a app issue more than the graphics problems people have had, but still, anyone else noticed it?

Cheers.
