*** The official HTC One X thread ***

So I suspect my One X is a little poorly: It frequently refuses to wake from sleep, displays corrupt visuals, sometimes appears to run at the wrong resolution and often just draws blocks of random noise to the screen. This doesn't happen 100% of the time and it'll occasionally just work fine; It's acting like a PC with a dying GPU or dodgy VRAM.

It's a little over a week old on a Three contract, anyone had recent experiences of their customer service? I don't relish trying to get them to understand what looks like an intermittent hardware fault.

See this video from around 30s onwards if you're interested

It certainly looks like it's seen better days. Exchange time methinks.

Well bitten the bullet and have one ordered, the free handset with 12 month contract was just too good to pass up, especially now my minutes usage has dropped off a cliff and I don't need anywhere near the 1200 I get with my current contract!

Still want a Galaxy note but not this late in it's life, happy to wait and see if a new one is released later this year at which point I'll decide if the HOX can go. Either way after nearly 2 years of exceptionally good service from my Desire HD I have no qualms giving HTC my money again.

on a side note :D why are you showing in a dark room where its almost impossible to see whats going on and whats the clicking noise at the beginning  sounds like your trying to bend the case of the phone as its keeps moving side to side like your applying pressure of sorts to its sides....just puzzled as to what was going on :D ...and yes i seen it when it finally came on but dont ever go into film making :D

scarey

The room's actually lit but I'm recording on a rubbish camera, an oldschool HTC Desire precariously balanced on the desk. The clicking is the One X's power button; It usually takes around 10 to 15 attempts to wake it from sleep.

Either way the phone is proper ****** :)

how much do u get?

i get around 100+ maybe on each gmail account plus my work email as well.

one popular thread like say a football thread i can easily get 20-30 emails on just that single thread. imagine all the threads i am subscribed to here in this forum alone mate and u will realize that i sync **** far more then u mate who probably gets maybe 10 new emails a day lol. i get 10 new emails an hour if not more LMAO.

Why don't you turn that off? It's essentially spam.

Just visit your User CP whenever you feel like going on the forum instead. Far better.

Anyone know if that weak wifi signal affects all HTC One X's or only a few unfortunate owners? Reason I ask is I just ordered a HOX last night and wondering if I should cancel the order.

Was going to go with the samsung s3 but found the HOX on for 19.50pm after cashbacks so it swayed me, but regretting it now.

Mine arrived yesterday and I have been having a play, seems great! Its a SH24 version and it looks and feels great with no visible defects. Just a quick question:

1.) I'm coming from the SGS1 and had buttons in the pull down notification bar for Wifi/Data/Sound etc.., anyway I can get these on HTC Sense? The widget for theses takes up too much space.

if your phones good to go its should be just fine for now.

the tech guys over at xda developers have what they think is the problem..the contact pins on the antenna are being slowly bent by the flex in the case also caused by heat (expanding..contracting..).

now this can happen to all the phone its just some cases flex more than others and it seems a lot of the cases are on the HT23 and HT24 batch range and some HT25 are being flagged too (BUT may i stress not all Phones)

Xda developers have really pushed to get this resolved at HTC via legal methods if needed but were pushing for free fix or swap

if you want to know ...or have the Wifi problem

remember its not the grip of death like the iphone 4 it called the grip of life :P hence you get better wifi reception on squeezing.

go to Xda Developers

I'm going to root my One X today and stick a new ROM on there (probably ArHD if there's nothing better).

Reasons:

Battery life should improve a bit
Phone should be smoother
The 3 dot menu key can be disabled <- MAIN REASON :p

Downside:

If the phone breaks HTC may not repair it... but I don't think it will break and if it does then whatever. :p

im not going to root mine until S-OFF is implemented because at the moment u can only install standard roms and not radio roms.

it is the radio roms that help increase battery life more then the standard rom
