*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Anyone know how to stop the data network from "sleeping" when the phone has being turned off a certain amount of time, I'm listening to music on my bike and after about 25 minutes it stops cause the data network goes to sleep.

Can someone post a battery usage image of them playing 3d games for half an hour with screen on minimum brightness and airplane mode please? Not sure if mine is faulty or not.

I have no screenshot for you but for me the battery would probably drain completely within 1 hour with me doing this on a stock ROM.

How are peoples batteries tending to last nowadays? Mine is struggling to manage 12 hours with only a light bit of browsing and a few text messages.

Has anyone managed to replace the battery in the phone themselves as well?

Hi, I have looked everywhere to try and get this problem fixed, but haven't found anything to help.

I have a HTC One X which is absolutely stock. I got it on contract last September and have never rooted it/played with it/etc (I wouldn't know what I was doing!). My problem is that it is on a boot loop and I cannot get it to to get beyond the first HTC splash screen. If I hold down the volume down button to get to the boot menu then it runs for around 1.5-2 seconds then reboots again. The details below show where it gets to.

I contacted my insurance company and sent it in and they have told me that the phone has been water damaged and they will not fix it. I am covered for water damage, but as I didn't declare in my insurance form that this was the cause for the failure they will not accept responsibility! The thing is that while I accept that I have used my phone in the rain on a number of times (I'm a keen walker despite the weather), I have never immersed it in water. I can only assume that the indicators have come up because I've used the phone while out walking in the rain. Despite what I say they will not fix the phone and HTC don't want to know because of the indicators, just referring me to my insurer as the water indicators are red. I am obviously hacked off, but surely if the screen isn't a problem and it's booting this far then surely I can get the phone to work?

The display is as follows:

*** LOCKED ***
ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.39.0000
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-5.1204.162.29

When I try to charge the phone it just enters a boot loop, lasts about 4/5 seconds then reboots, so I can't see how to get it to do anything else.

Can anybody help me get the phone back up and running so I don't use it as a frisbee?! I am still under contract until September 2014 and would hate to think that I've got to pay for a phone I can't even use!

Doesn't sound like water damage. By coincidence a family member who had been borrowing my One X for a while returned it. It was unlocked, rooted and loaded with the ICS Venom Sense ROM.

I decided to upgrade it to the JB Venom ROM but would need to upgrade the hboot version on the phone. This I did following instructions BUT ended up with phone in a boot loop as you describe. I couldn't get past it so in the end I managed to get the CID for the phone and then find and download the right RUU for my One X. After locking the phone again was able to flash the RUU via my computer. Loaded up with the latest EU stock HTC JB rom and all is well again.

My phone had been unlocked and generally messed about with but your symptoms sound generally the same in that something has gone wrong with the phones OS and it can't boot. There could be a hardware fault possibly but water damage generally means DOA and nothing happens? I'm no expert though. If it was mine and I had nothing to lose I'd look up boot loop on XDA and maybe give it a try. You need to download the right RUU and you can get your CID from recovery (Power off then hold volume down and press power button again)

My One X is off to the recyclers. Loaded up a few apps and popped my sim in. Signal reception seemed better and didn't lose mobile signal half as much as I remember. Battery ran down faster than I remembered. Though the screen is very nice I've got used to the super amoled razr i screen.

Edit - I forgot your battery level has got too low so that could well hamper things.

I've rooted and installed CM 10.1.2 on my One X. Boy, what a new lease of life. It was out of warranty anyhow and running really slow so I thought what the heck and bit the bullet.

Well worth it.

New one come March/April, until then this will continue to do nicely.

Can you confirm what guides you used and how long did it take?

Was your phone unlocked? mine is locked to t-mobile so I dont know if I will be able to do it.

So now the HTC one X+ in Asia is getting the 4.2.2/sense V5 update (butterfly phones received it last month), wonder how long till the original X gets it? It really shouldn't take any longer than a few weeks considering they are pretty much the exact same phones.........

There's talk of an Android Rev port of the One X+ rom possibly coming today. It's apparently a really quick port to do as the phones are basically the same.

Sense 5 with Android 4.2.2 Roms are starting to come out.
Just flashed the MaximusHD 20.0 Rom, seems quite smooth and really like the quick toggles in the taskbar. Blinkfeed seems ok but that can be removed in the settings if you don't want it.

Only problem i'm having is the WiFi seems to be terrible, only getting 1 bar when standing next to the router. A few people have mentioned this on the xda forum but it seems to work fine for most.

4.2.2/sense V5 update now rolling out for the one x in Europe:

Good work HTC! They have now rolled the 4.2.2 update out for quite a few of their phones unlike every other company so far and yet people still say HTC suck with support/updates......... :p

Hopefully if the one s is getting sense V5, it won't be much longer, going by past updates, there is usually a 1-2 month delay between it and the one x.
