*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Mine's going back to P4U tomorrow for a straight swap. I swear the flickering problem is getting worse.

For anyone who wants to check if they've got it, make sure you're on auto brightness or full brightness, go to the battery use screen daz has screenshotted above and press on the graph. This will open out into a full page graph of mainly grey. On my screen said grey is strobing like an old CRT.

Tried that with mine and everything is fine.. thankfully

I can see an ever so slight shimmer now and again. Almost like a refresh and your eye just catches it now and again. Is that it?

The first of the Desires had an AMOLED screen where the red pixels were twice the size of the green and blue so when the backlight was off grey looked pink.

I know because I'm looking at my old Desire with that exact problem right now :D

Me too. Got one on release. Great phone.

HTC did do something to make it better

Out of interest I just showed the grey screen to the wife and she couldn't see any flicker/shimmer at all. It could be refresh rate related and affects some people more than others?

Could be they strobe the backlight to save power which is highlighted by some colours?

Can anyone tell me how to stop the GMAIL app email notifications coming up? I have 2 Gmail address set up on the HTC Mail app, yet it automatically configured them for the Google App and I'm getting double notifications in the top left hand corner...

Edit: Nevermind! Solved it, had to untick "Sync Gmail" under the accounts section for Google.

I know that, I didn't say it was new. :p

Most browsers don't have it though, but the HTC Sense stock one does.

Dolphin HD has had text reflow for years! Ever since I started using it back when the Milestone was just emerging.

On my second handset now, first one the left side of the screen was loose.

Trouble i've got now, when the phone is plugged in on charge it is very laggy and unresponsive.

Also get a slight jitter, almost like a frame skip, when scrolling through screens.

Anyone else noticed that?

Is it on the latest firmware? Is there a form of reset you can perform on these devices?

Well I've gone and dropped my phone :(

Fumbled it taking the lead out after transferring some music over this morning, only had it exchange for a new one yesterday, broke its fall onto my kitchen floor with my foot but then it slid face down for a foot and a half as I screamed like a girl in horror :eek::eek:

Now I have a dotted scratch on the bottom right hand of the screen going up vertically for 2 inches.....

So I need a decent screen protector... Can anyone recommend one please? My heart can't take the shock of another fall

I did that with my Galaxy S2 when I got it new but the chrome bezel that surrounds the screen took the brunt of the scraping along the kitchen floor and that got scuffed a bit!
