I havent had any overheating or wifi problems to speak of and it looks like I have been really lucky in getting a screen that isnt yellow tinted.

I watched the entire f1 grand prix this weekend and had no overheating issues at all and incredible battery life to boot. I am used to a poor iPhone 4 battery so this is much better than I ever thought it would be.

The only negative i have found like a lot of others, is the fact it takes bloody ages to charge when you eventually need to. I have had mine on now for 36 hours give or take and with watching the football last night watching a few YouTube videos and a fair amount of browsing, I still have 52% battery left.

Very impressed with it, haven't been able to put it down since I got it on Saturday :)

Got AirPlay working by installing the airplay client on my pc
Suppose it'll do for now lol

Any way I can get the photos from my sgs2 onto the iPad without having to install iTunes on my pc please?

Literally search for "dida mobile" and it's the first item - should be £28.88 but if you offer £26 (10% off) it should accept it automatically.

Ah, got it cheers. I was looking on the dida main site, not the bay.

btw, they do a 18Gb top up for the second 6 months for £25.99 (£23.4 assuming -10%)

tried one yesterday - nice device - but the difference in screen wasn't as great as I expected - yes its better - but for some reason the Ipad 2 screen still looks good enough - perhaps because the text in apps etc lends itself fine to the Ipad 2 resolution

You might want to grab some fire-proof clothing ;)

Glad someone else agrees with me though :)

It's funny you should mention that though, some of the applications that haven't been updated for the iPad 3 like the BBC news app, use the old text for buttons and such forth - the pixellation is very clear to see. We forget the thing has only been out a few days, I absolutely can't wait to see what developers can achieve with the resolution of this screen.

The VEVO hd app is pretty decent as well, the resolution of the latest and greatest are superb.

This is a very fair point. In my case I would readily admit that the videos/pictures/apps that I used to compare the two may not have been best suited for such a comparison.

Has to be said though, I NEVER thought I would use my iPad 2 as much as I have. Had I known, it would have been an instant purchase on release.

not sure - I do admit to thinking the Ipad/Ipad 2 looked a bit fuzzy (compared to a Playbook etc) - but to be honest - 10 inches is quite a lot of screen area - and with the right sized fonts etc you can still fit a LOT of information on one page - and don't necessarily have to go ultra small

I thought the same trying one out today. It's better of course but it's something in normal use I have to look for to see. The colours/vibrancy was far more obvious to me than than the lettering on desktop icons being slightly smoother and clearer.

Naturally zooming in on the apple homepage you can see the finger print on the person using the pad where on the ipad 2 it wasn't as clear and sharp.

In reality I would never look and view pictures like than on a 10 inch pad.

Side by side tests on the same apps the ipad 2 was generally faster for me in my limited testing but the extra ram on the 3 for safari would be of use to me. On one of the pads I opened safari and went to type in www.bbc and got the first w and then lag for a second before it started to fill in. That would **** me off.

Buy Photo-Sync from the app store, download the pc/mac client.

Then you copy photos to your device over your wifi & not itunes.

Cheers

I used 'Bump' instead.
Install client on ipad, install client on phone and bump together

simples.

Didn't cost a penny either ;)

Thats what I thought, I don't think the difference is as noticeable as say a iPhone 3G to iPhone 4. Where the difference is almost night and day.

It all depends what you're doing. Apps don't tend to show that much difference really - whilst they may update them to take advantage of the higher resolution, fundamentally the app has to work on all models so the text and other elements will always be large enough for a non-retina display.

Where it really shows is web browsing and reading, where you can read very small text far more easily than before, which reduces the need to zoom and pan around and makes for a much "nicer" experience.

the thing is though using one in a shop, and using one on the sofa are quite different.

WHen browsing at home i woul wager you hold the screen closer than you would in a shop - at which point its clearly much better.

I gave the wife my ip1 and so get to use it still, and find it grainy when going back. If i had a 2, i on't think i'd upgrade though, with apple i tend to go every other iteration, and never once felt i needed the ipad 2 or the 4S.

I showed a colleague who owns the Transformer Prime the iPad. While he was comparing pixels on icons he wasn't too impressed but when I loaded up a web page his jaw dropped the text is much much sharper and easier to read on the iPad!
