*** The Official iPad (Early 2012) Thread ***

If OCUK don't do finance, Dixons/PC World do. Be warned, though, there's a £20 termination fee even if you pay back within the six months interest-free period. If you can wait and save up, do.

Get yourself a Argos card. :)

Shall take a look! I can get %6 off the £400 if i go via apple website & pay on finance

Been waiting one since may 2012 but now moved in to a flat so more bills. Monthly is the only way now :(

how do people cope with not having multi users? or is it worth setting up another apple id where nothing has been purchased etc? And just start fesh

i use Itunes on windows (Ipod) and don't have an iPhone or anything

I think "cope" is certainly the word. It's not ideal but we just have all our mail accounts, twitter, etc set up. I'd love it to have proper user switching of some sort (so I can have my own favourites in Safari, properly separate out email etc).

Turned on my iPad 3 last night and there's a lovely column of black pixels running down the right-hand side of it.

I bought it second-hand last week and read on it most of the weekend. Argh! So frustrating. However, this is what AppleCare is for. I'll take it down to an Apple store next week.

I cannot believe how easy it is to read books on the retina screen. I hated my iPad 2 for that.

1st thing i noticed really as soon as i turned it on only owning it for less than a day! Should have done more homework!

Indeed :/ a tad annoyed that the feature isn't standard really. I know all ill be using my ipad for my photography/clients etc/notes/etc. But still its put me off using it for email/twitter/facebook for now.

& even then i need to find an app for photo(s) albums that can lock with password to stop people seeing more explicit photos :P

Guys, even though I started the thread I never got round to buying one due to a sudden change in circumstances. I am now in a position to buy one so am going to ask the same old question.

Would it be folly to wait for the iPad 4? It's quite a way off and a friend who is an Apple fanboy even claims that it will be the most minimal upgrade so far and probably not worth it.

Also, have they sorted the quite stupid problem of having to select every single email to delete it yet?

It's looking like an iPad could be useful to fill a gap for me as I could do with a device to take away with work that's compact and not a laptop.

Original idea was pickup a cheap Playbook, but that didn't last long after popping into a store and playing with the 2 devices side by side, screen size and interface was clearly better for me on the iPad.

My dilemma though is one of which iPad to go for, it'll be a refurb either way but an iPad2 16 wth 3g and Wifi for £320, or a 'new' iPad 16 with just Wifi for £360.

Is the new one that much better? It'll largely just be used for browsing and video, is the retina screen res useful when browsing to fit mor eon the screen or does it just increase the quality/definition of what's there (if that makes sense)?

Pretty much talked myself into a new rather than refurb 32gig so will pick one up on my way home this evening.

Guys,
A friend wants to copy some video to his iPad using his new laptop he bought whilst hes on holiday but it is asking him to erase and sync.

Now he currently already has loads of stuff on there so erasing and then just syncing the new stuff isnt an option.

What is the way around this?
Haven't found a lot of help online.

Thanks
