*** The Official iPad (Early 2012) Thread ***

lol at those trying to 'persuade' themselves not to upgrade - no-ones forcing you!

Anyone who says the current ipad2 screen doesn't need upgrading is lying to themselves - I checked this website out on my nephews ipad on the weekend - without zooming in the fonts were all scewed and needed me to zoom in to read it properly. With more pixels on the screen you have a better resolution - its not rocket science.

Anyways - its only a tablet - how much more can you do with a tablet -what the heck were people expecting? quad-core cpu's with 7970 graphics!?! lol. I think its a good call tbh- keep dual-core for cpu and give a slightly more grunt for the extra screen res all without sacrificing battery life too much.

Comet have got there stock today fellas (got my 3 paid for and reserved ;) - just a shame I can't collect till tommorow 8:30AM)

I haven't said smaller battery... i've said it's wrong to have a "bigger" battery that makes the device bigger and heavier. The iPad 2 is too heavy as it stands.

The battery is also larger to cope with the 4G chip... so that's no use to us.

Everyone here was bleating about how the iPad is not a gaming device and that the games aren't proper games, yet Apple have shoe-horned a power-hungry gpu in there and upgraded the screen which has crippled the battery-life. The only apps that will benefit from this is the games. The iPad 2 can run everything else perfectly fine.

I would have liked a screen that wasn't detrimental to the design and usage of the product. :rolleyes:

It's like Apple just said to themselves "sod the actual productivity of the iPad, lets just cram a better display in there for bragging rights!"

Crippled? That's quite extreme. Source?

Showing up now as with UPS and delivery by end of tomorrow. I don't think I've ever had UPS deliver to me so no idea what time of day they usually come. I know with TNT it's always early in the route as everything delivered by them has been before 10am.

It takes almost twice as long to charge, it has on average around 10% less battery life and loses far greater battery life when asleep. That's not good.

Ok so where's your evidence for this? Considering no one owns an iPad yet....

And rather than think that it is actually an impressive feat of battery engineering, you think that the extra 0.8mm of thickness that it has afforded has 'crippled' the design and usage of the new iPad. Are you for real?

the screen has a million more pixels to power than your average HDTV, its going to need some juice, its not all about 4G, the battery life will be fine, who cares if it takes longer to charge, just do it overnight like most normal people

stop trolling and do one!

PLEASE CALL?!?!!?! :confused::o

It's ok - it'll update to exception and then in transit. It just means their systems haven't fully updated with all your package information yet.

EDIT: Mine did this earlier as well.
