Anyone else having issues with wireless signals dropping out on the new phones? My other halfs 11 seems to randomly drop network, WiFi and Bluetooth sporadically and then they come back on fine

This can sometime be software related have you updated software today? Try this first if not do a restore as these are the things Apple always try first

:D

I've said it for the majority of iPhones I've ever bought, it's the biggest anti climax of all gadgets I buy. It unfortunately doesn't stop me upgrading and getting excited for the box coming, after trying to find something new in the iOS, taking some pictures and testing the camera, it's then just like nothing has changed, other than being £1000 worse off :(

Next year i'm considering not updating the iOS 14 and just waiting the week or two for a new phone.

Do we know if we'll qualify for the free year of AppleTV+? Apple have said anyone buying an iPhone, iPad, AppleTV and Apple Watch will get a years free, but I'm wondering if it's for purchases made around the time AppleTV+ goes live as opposed to purchases made now?

Yeap

Starting today, customers who purchase any iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch or Mac can enjoy one year of Apple TV+ for free. Through Family Sharing, up to six family members can share one Apple TV+ subscription.

From the 10th of Sept

the iphone is water resistant only (wording verified in store at regent street and blue water) and i have blown two iphone 8 plus by rinsing them under a tap to clean sand off. imho apple got so much heat from myself and others i would be surprised if the 11 is not better as i thought the IP rating on the 8 series was misleading.

i just feel it is a ruse by apple to get you to keep your applecare plus renewed every 2 years so i am not confident that the 11 will be as good as the IP rating suggests.
Running it under a tap is a lot more pressure on the seals than immersing in water... fill the sink then dunk the iphone for a clean :p

Anyone else on the upgrade plan? Made 2 payments this month, does that seem right?

they overcharged on accident. Getting a refund now

Happened to me too, i had been wary of it happening with buying a phone on Saturday and payment due Monday/Tuesday. Phoned Barclays and they were fine and said they will put the money back in my account.

I think we are supposed to cancel the DD's when the load ends but i'd rather not take the chance of a credit record hit.

Yeah I did think I was cutting it close getting it on the Friday. I quick 5 minute call and the very helpful person on the phone noticed it and said I'd get a refund in a few days.

Same as you, I didn't want to risk just cutting the DD

How’s everyone’s signal strength? I feel I’ve got a worse signal and call drops since upgrading to the iPhone 11 pro max. On O2.

Weird. I often have full signal strength but my data doesn't work and I need to put airplane mode on then off again. I am running the 13.1 beta but I feel it has nothing to do with it as the 13.1 beta ran fine on my XS Max but now it's sporadic at best. May wait for Apple to release 13.1 so i can take the beta off and test

I have that issue too and I’m on the official 13.1 release that dropped yesterday!!

Thanks. I'm not sure about the iPhone 8 but the 11 seem quite waterproof going by videos like this

So they aren't ip68 rated after all? Confusing!
They are IP68 rated but should you get water damage for whatever reason, it’s not covered under warranty.

So personally I wouldn’t intentionally be dunking it in water, but that’s just me.

Some people will happily go swimming etc with it and they’re fine.

If the little water indicator inside the sim tray hole triggers you are pretty much stuffed for any warranty claim.
Happened to me with an IPhone 8 that was in a inside front pocket with chainsaw trousers on during one of the hottest summer days. Can only think the heat plus my sweat triggered it. Apple wanted £399 plus vat...

I wouldn’t of let them get away with it. I believe they can be too sensitive these sensor

Hmm bit rough but I guess it makes sense.

Bad technician - sim lci is only cause for internal inspection because, as you’ve alluded to, it’s much more susceptible to other triggers.
It’s not Apple policy to deny on that lci alone without opening the phone
