Any recommendation on a wireless charger?
I’m going to get the 11 pro max and could do with a wireless charger for the office. Ideally one that allows both portrait and landscape charging and would work through the Apple leather case. Can’t imagine it’s very thick.

I want to use the plug that comes with it elsewhere so even better if it comes with a plug. Not that interested in watch charging as will do that overnight so this will be just to keep phone topped up instead of just having it loose on my desk.

I got a cheap choetech from amazon for my iPhone X couple of years ago and it’s still going strong. Just uses a usb cable.

Edit , btw I doubt you will need a charger in the office if you charge it Full every day. I took mines off charge at 6am and with average use, Facebook, internet, no video though, I’m at 55% right now.

I've got the holife one from amazon and it works with a clear plastic case, seems to work fine in landscape on an original X.

I've had this since I had the iPhone X and it's served me through the XS Max and now Pro Max

What I like is that because the way FaceID works, this is always angled perfectly. It doesn't come with a charger though, plugged it into an iPad charger.

Works fine both portrait and landscape

Thanks will have a look at those recommended. As you say might just plug it in overnight and see how I get on wit charge levels during the day.

If the little water indicator inside the sim tray hole triggers you are pretty much stuffed for any warranty claim.
Happened to me with an IPhone 8 that was in a inside front pocket with chainsaw trousers on during one of the hottest summer days. Can only think the heat plus my sweat triggered it. Apple wanted £399 plus vat...

anyone tried to do an 11 trade in with the water indicator triggered ?

I have used the belkin 7.5w pad since launch a couple of years ago, its been flawless.

@HEADRAT i think the 11 remains at 7.5w for wireless charging but you need to be careful and not cheap out. As of 13.1 IOS many cheaper pads without fixed-frequency voltage regulation will be limited to 5W. The belkin pads are expensive for a reason.

I'm still using this - would it be worth changing for the 11 Pro?

At Apple anyway the policy is to investigate further, but not outright deny for sim tray.
May get someone to do an internal inspection.

If you know 100% it’s liquid damaged I wouldn’t bother

Had to swap my phone today as like I suspected, my haptic/taptic whatever it is motor was on the blink. Usual top service from Apple, checked it for 30 seconds then just gave me a new phone. Thankfully as they are still so new, it wasn't their refurb stock and actually a new retail model.

Had they given you a refurb so soon after release I'd definitely not classed it as top service!

Course, but normally that is what they've done, no matter how old the phone is. When I bought my girlfriend an X a few months after release, it was a couple of weeks old and developed an issue with the facetime cameras. They gave her a refurb. The guy in the store said I'd have been given a refurb normally but it's too soon for them to really have any stock/parts for the 11/11 Pro.

Your brand new £1150 phone is knacked, here have a second hand one. (Not arguing with you btw, I'm just shuddering at the thought of getting a refurb replacement for a week old phone!)

Popped in, brand new phone. Which was nice as I already managed to scratch the screen!

Though now restoring it is a right pain. says it needs wifi to restore yet it wont let me add wifi

I'm currently restoring mine at work using the Wifi, which is ridiculously slow. Took me minutes at home, whereas I doubt I'd finish it here even if I stayed late!

Yeah mine is going super slow!

I also need to pop back into EE to grab another eSIM. For all it's benefits, eSIMS are frustratingly annoying to get replaced.

Seriously? They'd normally replace a faulty phone with a second hand one? And people hark on about apples amazing service?
Surely within the first 30 days your entitled to a new replacement regardless of "policy"?
