Only in store sadly.

Doesn't it work out better to join the Apple upgrade program as you get Apple Care too?
I might be tempted by either the apple upgrade program or 0% finance for a pro

Contract wise i'm currently paying £10/month for unlimited everything with 3. £10 for first 6 months then 18 months at £20/month

yeah but the Apple care is like 200 quid. It is a bit of a scam but I love it lol

Yeah AppleCare is £10/month AND there’s still a steep excess to pay. No thanks

if you have the cash it works out cheaper to keep the phone for a year then sell it compared to 12 payments and then handing it back for a new one

this is true, having hassle personally selling a phone before on a market place a few years ago, it’s just far easier to go in hand it back and take a new one no hassle (they don’t even want the box or anything back), no worries about battery life wear, or keeping it nice.
I’m happy to pay a little extra for a easy life.

Wasn’t going to bother upgrading this year but just noticed Carphone Warehouse’ ridiculous trade in prices ...

£600 for a 64gb XS Max is pretty much what they go for on the bay (after fees).

now to convince the wife !

Takes a bit of that eBay hassle out of things for sure. Maybe she won’t notice as the front looks the same ;)

Giffgaff just gave me £440 for my iPhone X 64GB - result!

128 GB iPhone 11 purchased, handed my 11 Pro Max back to Apple as I didn't think it was worth £500 more than the standard 11.

Cannot get over how much better the camera is than the XS. Absolutely love night mode, I know it's just using longer exposures, but the fact that you can take a 5-10 second exposure shot in your hand without being perfectly still, and still get a crisp image is brilliant.

The shots I'm getting in portrait mode are just so much better as well, the XS always seemed to lose detail but the 11 Pro just has so much detail even zoomed in.

It cost me £550 for a 256GB Pro Max after I sold my XS Max for £750, and I'd say for the camera alone, that is well worth it. I still used my DSLR for some shots, especially indoors if it was low light, which was a bit of an arse ache as it's harder to get candid shots with a big camera in hand, but this means I'll happily use my phone and still get the shots I want

Phones due for an upgrade in November. Looking at the 11 pro. I say looking, I've made my mind up that it's the one for me. Dipping back into the apple ecosystem from a Galaxy S8. Huge upgrade! But! I'm a little lost, do I just buy the phone right out? Or do I go in for the upgrade programme? I also see apple care costs way more than it did when I had the iPhone 6 haha, is it worth it? Touch wood, I've never actually broken a phone screen before and I'm usually pretty good with my phones.

If I buy the phone outright, then it gets delivered. If I go for the Upgrade programme, I need to travel around 1.5ish hours each way to my closest store.

Well it doesn't sound like your'e the type to upgrade an iphone constantly, given you're moving back to an iPhone. I'd just buy it outright instead of on the upgrade program. As for AppleCare, it's insurance, only you can decide if you need insurance on a phone. I have two kids under 3 so even though i haven't broken a phone yet, i'm not taking the risk lol

Way cheaper to get a contract through uswitch or similar. 30gb data on EE/O2 works out as £10/month after the cost of the phone is taken into account. 24 month contract and no redemption tokens or anything silly like that.

Avoid the unlimited Vodafone option as it’s speed limited.

Sorry yes, not all are speed limited (10mbps which is very slow!) but all the attractively priced ones are speed limited.

I think they have three plans: 2mbps, 10mbps and Unlimited speed. I haven't priced them up, but I'm sure the unlimited speed ones are extortionate.

Can someone check something for me please, on an 11 Pro Max (11 Pro should be fine too)

In Settings -> Sound, turn 'System Haptics' off. When you swipe up from the bottom slowly as if to bring up the multitask menu, do you still get a very soft haptic click? It's really bugging me as I can't work out if it's my phone or something that's always been there and I've only just noticed

Do you have the accessability feature on which will do that when the phone unlocks?

No it doesn't do it when it unlocks, it's just when I swipe up from the bottom while already unlocked (very slowly), it will just do a really soft click. I only noticed it while day dreaming and moving my thumb up and down while unlocked. Never noticed it before so it's bugging me :p

If i have system haptics on it does it, if i switch it off then nope i don't get it.

Is anyone else having issues with data? Doesn't seem to matter if I use eSIM or Physical SIM I still have this odd issue of having full signal strength on both plans but no working data.

Gonna book another appointment at the genius bar and hopefully have the phone switched out. Constantly restarting it is getting on my nerves now
