I was tempted by a 13 mini, but the slightly larger battery and core optimisations likely just wouldn't be enough.

I love the form of the mini's, but I'm hoping the 14 normal doenst feel too oversized in comparison!

I am jumping ship from Android to Iphone. Pre ordered the 14 pro 256gb.

What I would like to know, the key main differences between Google One and Apple iCloud?

I'm currently paying £1.59per month for 100gb. But the beauty with Google one, I don't pay a single penney from my account. I use Google Reward to pay for Google One and YouTube Premium(Argentine VPN). Been doing it as long as I can remember:p

Is there any reward system on iOS that's similar to Google Rewards?
Don't know how much iCloud cost. Presuming it will be simething similar.

Can I use Google One going forward as my main cloud storage or will I need to move over to iCloud storage?
 
YouTube premium can be done from Argentina whether you're on iOS or Android.

As for storage:

When you sign up for iCloud, you automatically get 5 GB of free storage. If you need more space in iCloud, you can upgrade to iCloud+.

Apple don’t offer a 100gb plan - it’s 0.79p for 50gb or £2.49 for 200gb.
Long time YouTube Premium VPN subscriber here too!

None that I’m aware of. The Google rewards thing was pretty cool but I ultimately ran out of things to buy with it.

As I said at the start, for a fundamental storage platform they both do the same job.
You won’t benefit from the native iCloud integration however, which I’ve found to be seamless.

Fair enormous. It's a shame there's no reward system, got use to it. Eventually to have to nove on.
£2.59 for 200gh isn't too bad. I've got used to cloud storage. So might as well sign up to that when I get my iPhone. Thanks.
 
MKBHD seriously singing the praises of the 14 Pro. Dynamic Island works great and has a lot of potential, best camera system on any phone.

Looking forward to getting mine!

I’m genuinely interested to see what the app support is like for it. The launch stated native apps only at the start.
From a purely personal POV, if the likes of Gmail, YouTube (and YouTube Music) and WhatsApp don’t have support then it would be a big let down. Of course, Google and Meta are big enough that they should be on the ball pretty quickly.

I'm hoping you can control the brightness of the AoD, I have my droid set low so it doesn't illuminate the bedroom...

I believe it's either on or off... no customisation. Could be added, though...

Island should work fine for apps using native API's like now playing, messaging etc.

As for the AOD, it turns off during sleep mode - so if you set your phone to Sleep/DnD overnight then it won't illuminate the bedroom...or the screen at all. I appreciate them wanting to differentiate the AOD in some ways, but it seems pointless in it's current state (for me at least).

So £380 was the value they gave me and said after closing my account, it leaves me with 24 payments of £37 a mth. Just a few quid more than what I’m paying now.

Anyways come to 1pm and I’m trying to get in via the app. 5 mins later I’m in and go to my pre order, get to shipping stage of order and it throws up an error message. Times out and I try again and again same damn thing. Third times the charm right?? Nope I go in and again it times out but this time it completely wiped my pre order out .

So I’m like **** it I’ll try website rather than app. So I login in do the whole pre order thing again but it’s slow. But this time it goes through and I now get a date for 3-10 October.

Anyhow it is what it is I guess, disappointed that I won’t have my 14 pro for at least a few weeks. But have heard that I might get lucky and still get mine by next week but I doubt it. Because order screen on app is still giving me the date 3-10 October.

Not sure if anyone had the same issue as me, went on Reddit and seems like lots of people had issues.
