*** The official "I've put my tree up early" thread ***

If it was up to my missus we would - I'm normally on high-alert in November and have to keep warning her not to do it. She normally gets her own way around the last week of November. She is 54 years old
My other half is just as bad.

There is a ban on all Christmas movies, Christmas shopping and related foods. If she comes home with any before December I have jokingly said she is not coming in the house until they have been returned to the shop for a refund!

We have a discussion every year of when the tree is going up and I put it off as long as possible

Why as long as possible? When do you think it should ideally go up?

I don't even think about Christmas until mid December.

Might be on my own this Christmas as well.

My favourite Christmas in last few years was covid lock down one. Which is super sad.

Our won't go up until well into December. Today though they started putting up the outside lights at work. It'll take them a while to get everything set up though so if it's like last year they won't be turned on for a few weeks yet

The local super market has already got a tree up at the entrance with 51 days until Xmas

They must have put that up weekend just gone..

It's beginning of November pretty much. The chain that loves profiteering beyond belief

Aldi seem to be first with xmas add, don't they think this will alienate some of their customers.

I have already bought sprouts in the various offers - these taste better now, rather than buying the same sprouts in 2months time, that have been kept(degraded) in a protective atmosphere/temp.

e: ok utube now served the js add

I tend to think about Christmas once Fireworks night is over with as its the next thing coming up in the calendar
"Remember, remember the 5th of November. Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why the 5th of November should ever be forgot."
Except it has, erased from popular memory not a single mention anywhere on the paper, news, nothing. Its gone.

Lidl too

We don't put anything up until December 6th. Our close friend lost his mom and he always said "It's not Christmas until after her birthday" Which is December 5th.
2nd for me not until after then.
