***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Well my Nexus just tried its first suicide as it magically shimmied off of the mantlepiece (even though it was on its back not its front). Bent the LG USB cable's micro USB connection. As much as I'd like to keep following the Quick start guides instructions to only use the supplied cable (as we all know USB cables are very unique to each device *cough*) I can't as it's busted. At least the phone has survived ok. Don't think I'll place it down anywhere near an edge ever again. Maybe time to get a rubberised case so it doesn't slide about on surfaces.

Google Talk is Google's instant message/video chat app, you can sign yourself out of it if you like.

If you leave your GMail webpage open, you'll probably get the same dude IM'ing you.

Power & Vol-

Thanks. I'll stick to whatsapp.

I did google it and I tried the power + vol down, though it doesn't seem to work.

Just pick up my N4 from O2 on contract and applied for my free TV. Should make for a cheap N4, once I flog on the telly :)

There is a rattle coming from the camera, but it seems most of them do that.

Update: Sweet, O2 emailed and TV arriving within 28 days

TNT just showed up with my N4 and bumper. I got my N4 a couple of weeks back from O2 as I'm impatient, now I'm faced with a dilemma - sell and make my money back or give it to my mom who was the one that managed to place the order on play store for me. She wants one but won't be honest and say whether she minds waiting a while more.

I'm leaning towards being a good son.

Ah, I figured it out. I was expecting it to be instant like my 4S, but you have to hold it down. Makes sense, I always managed to take screenshots by mistake!

With tape.

Seriously.

Line up the protector how you want it, and tape it down on one long edge, now lift it away like a book page, peel off the bottom layer and stick it back down, that way you've already got it lined up perfectly.

i cannot envision how this goes, if possible could you be more detailed/images?

1. Don't peel off the back so it's not sticky
2. Line it up, non-sticky, and use some sellotape to stick on long side down to the phone
3. Lift it up like a flap and peel off the sticky-protector-film-thing
4. ????
5. Profit

Is how I envision it.

It's her birthday on Thursday too - think I will give it to her :)

I'm going to leave it a while before putting any roms on mine, I can't see anything that I'm crying out for as of yet. The usual reason for doing so in the past was to be on the latest version of Android, but on the N4 there's no killer features a rom can give me that stock can't at the moment.

On the subject of screen protectors I bought one of the Spigen ones and tried to fit it last week. I must've done it wrong because in the process of trying to remove all air bubbles with the squeegee thing they come with I just scratched the protector to pieces....both of them :/

It also didn't completely cover the screen because of the curved edges, which I would have found annoying.

I wrote a mini review of one screen protector for my S here, which includes how I perfectly apply a screen protector:

The best way to apply screen protectors is after you or someone else has had a nice long hot shower and kept the door closed as the steam works wonders with dust

End of! :p :D

Just need to take your time and very slowly apply it (I sort of drop mine on to the screen, I don't apply it from one side/corner to the other side/corner), didn't use any pieces of card or special methods to apply it, just used my finger nail to remove some air bubbles and as you can see from the photos, you wouldn't even realise that it was on in the first place (apart from the 2 air bubbles at the top left :p)

If dust gets on the side, which is supposed to be applied to the screen, use some cello-tape to remove it
